The Blue Abroad fancams are my favourite, 1K live viewers after they got smashed by the Pies on Sunday. Cant question their passion though, they seem decent.

Credit to Terry himself for keeping a cool head throughout the fancams despite the frustrations.

Don’t forget Carlton are head ****ed from years of scandal, underachievement, and all manner of bullschitte that comes with once having been an out-and-out powerhouse.

Our heads may not be in the right place right now, but Carlton’s malaise has been with them for decades now.
Titus O’Reily agrees with me:

“It’s early in the season, but the Carlton President has already come out and given his full support to Michael Voss.

You know Voss is in trouble then, and with Damien Hardwick out there, you just know the Blues will not be able to help themselves.

I’m not saying Hardwick is going to the Blues; I’m saying people involved with the Blues won’t be able to resist sounding him out and, in the process, destabilising the club.

Carlton can’t resist a saviour; fixing all their problem in one fell swoop is just too tempting for them.

This is the problem when you just think you should be on top rather than working for it. They are the trust fund baby of the league.”

A fan giving an opinion on camera about how the team went. Warning: It can get extremely passionate and crazy after a bad loss.
Thanks. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to watch some rando doing that, but the older I get the more I realise I don’t understand the world anymore.

It’s like watching the bowls at the Commonwealth Games. You 100% know that you don’t like watching bowls but find yourself strangely engrossed and still watching 3 hours later.

Oh dear. You are a much better human being than me. I watched their fan cams a few years ago and found the depth of despair strangely satisfying.
The Port one after they got 19 goals in a row kicked on them was the stuff of legends. The allure of seeing a potential melt is just too hard to ignore, and it is not just the AFL.

It's no different from a podcast only that you can see the people discussing the outcome of the game.

Well yuh learn sumfing every day.

How do you find them?

What would draw you there in the first place?

How would you find the time to find out which ones are worth watching and which ones are a complete waste of your time?

Life's short (as you suddenly discover when approaching 60.)

I'm a really fast reader, but sometimes the autopsy thread on here alone takes me hours to work through. Plus I have the valuable ability to skim read, which you simply can't do with a video.

So much about this world I don't understand anymore. (And that's kinda good, BTW! Once you think you know everything, you're effed!)

Horrible day in Sydney today. 18,000 at the ground tonight? At best.

There are numerous fan channels on Youtube.
You actually get much more informed comment on fan channels than the mainstream media these days IMO. Not sure on AFL just yet, as there may not be the numbers for people to do it full time like in the UK....
Think about it, don't you think most people on here could give better comment than Damo or BT on the Swans?

In UK football some of the big fan channels rival old school media now for viewers and clout.

michael koziol had a piece in the sydney morning herald last week that very clearly outlined why i don't understand the world anymore

and to make sure i'm staying on track, swans by less than two goals after looking beaten ... carlton choke, voss gone midweek ... something like that ... maybe
