So, take out a player who, firstly, doesn't deserve to be dropped based on performance and secondly, actually plays a different role just so that Dow plays? Why would you do that?

In fairness to Dow, he has played well for each of his sub games, regardless of whether it was done or not. That is all he can do.

I think we should be okay with leg speed on the HFF with Cuningham and Martin up there, and whilst not the quickest leg wise JSOS is a quick thinker. Agree it compromises our ruck rotations.

JaB do you think Young is on the bench as another ruck option?

he ticks the height box for the role ...Voss might have to play him and Jack in CBB rotations - Jack / Harry forward and Young back...in ball ups...

my thinking is as you quoted - mucks up what little continuity and method the midfield seemed to have put together against the Suns and also forward rotations...

Dow shouldn't need to play the sub role again. Of the 8 named and including Dow to get the 4 spots, I would have went with Cincotta, Kennedy, Dow and Binns with Hewett as the sub.

But that's just how I view it

Don't think so. Razor has a regular segment on SEN and was saying that there are a number of umpires who double up in a round. especially the younger fitter ones.

On a side note, his segment is very good.

This place has gone nuts.

There’s people genuinely advocating for a coach sacking after a fringe player was not named on a Thursday after a win hahah.

I’ve got nothing against Dow. At all. He’s done well coming on as the sub the last few weeks. He’s actually quite a good fit for that role.

But him coming on with 15 mins to go and looking great when everyone else is gassed and we’re 50 points up doesn’t prove anything. It’s not his fault but he hasn’t played a meaningful minute of footy in the seniors this year.

He now has played 3 quarters of footy in a month and if he’s not being elevated into the 22, and after our last game I don’t think anyone deserves to be dropped, then going back to the VFL makes sense.

I’d have no problem with him being elevated and given a proper go in the 1s but the suggestions of it being a conspiracy or a reflection of poor culture are baseless and rubbish.

That's pretty much where this place is at, yes.
