Doesn’t need to beat him outright.
Just block, niggle, harass.
Generally get in his way and be a nuisance.
I reckon he’s down for that
Sounds like my ex could do it without trying.

Issue is that we can’t structure our list properly or identify talent sufficiently so that we constantly need to plug short term holes with spuds. Once you add up all these cloggers over time that’s a lot of late stabs that we could have had at untapped youngsters or state leaguers.Got to develop our own players and stop taking the crap from other clubs. It's laughable how we accept these spuds and make up excuses for why we do it. Get them young and develop them. If we have to go back before going forward then do it. Shoukld drop the moniker Saints and become the StKilda Bin Chickens. *n Cordy.
I'm not necessarily using Joyce. I'm saying getting players in that are on the same level or slightly better is hardly smart.I understand your point. Still, using Joyce as your argument doesn't stack up as he had no place on an AFL list. I don't want a list clogger like Cordy either yet he has a small amount of value in a seniors team. Like you though, that doesn't make him a good pickup even for depth. There is a better option out there, Phillips.
Weids could be good. Pretty easy to turn a failed forward into a good backman
Agree with that but how do they get on a listNah you still have to pay their wages
Agree with that but how do they get on a list
On the face of it I agree, but if we we pick up Cordy for a similar wage to that which Joyce was on then at least with this replacement there is AFL premiership experience or at least AFL finals experience and also for what it's worth, the IP of a rival.Yep, same age as Joyce.
We've replaced Joyce with someone just like him.
Recruit young from the state leagues (like with Wilkie) to plug that kind of depth. Why get a guy we already know is rubbish. List spots shouldn't be thrown around like confetti.Your alternative?
Tommy Wigs knows.Issue is that we can’t structure our list properly or identify talent sufficiently so that we constantly need to plug short term holes with spuds. I'm more on the larger point that people saying that getting these type of players in doesn't hurt us is completely wrong.
Some of the bums we have brought in have hurt us dearly. We are a mediocre to bad side because we keep recruiting mediocre to bad players. Sets a standard.

That team could easily win us spoon No.28, look on the bright side, we'd get pick 1 in the draft to use on the best half back flanker.Sinclair Howard Wilkie
Clark Hartigan Cordy
Wood Steele Hill
Weideman Membrey Billings
Higgins King Butler
Marshall Jones Ross
Dixon Windhager Wanganeen-Milera Coffield
What a crew is all I can say, look out Geelong!
He is experienced at sucking at football and will continue to do so.On the face of it I agree, but if we we pick up Cordy for a similar wage to that which Joyce was on then at least with this replacement there is premiership experience and finals experience and also for what it's worth the IP of a rival.

I reckon he’ll be staying anyway.North's assistance picks gone so if things change again and Clark gets traded, it won't be for that future 2nd as was speculated.

I'm not too keen on it myself, but given the track record in recent years of recruitment, selection and match day structures it would be par for the course. Ross on a HBF, Crouch on a HFF, Steele and Mitchell in the guts, Owens and Windy rotating between forward pocket, wing and bench - it's sooo true to form.Ratts may like as it as it could improve us short term and give him less pressure to keep his job
Long term though we aren't going to push for a flag unless we get the next crop of mids playing quality footy
Not sure why we wouldn't back our kids and expect to see improvement?
Me too.he's a bit worried about the saints
Right off the bat 'No one had Billings at 3'Matt Rendell doing st kilda's list next on trade radio
I like adams. How did his season go? you can't really tell from stats with defenders.

Probably better than Adams ( who is listed as a ruck on the Saints web site ) , I'm guessing.
Well, we said we didn’t want choirboys…..At least he's a mad campaigner, coming to the Saints a month after this;
