Dont want to be trading Lobb and Meek. If we are going to use Jackson as a Mid we have to keep at least one of Lobb/Meek
We have far better midfielders than Jackson. The only possible mid position is wing where we are scrambling to trade in an unconvincing player in Sharp despite already holding some other plausible options.

My combine test would be like those police tests. Where someone training runs through a house and they have to make split second decisions on whether to fire at a baddy or accidentally hit the hostage. They pop up from behind walls or windows etc. we all know the ones.

Instead, my house would have random footballs around or passed to you. You have to hit your teammate and avoid the opposition that pops up.

That’s the actual test footballers need when surrounded by bodies.

Speed of mind and execution under pressure beats other metrics.

I’ll start designing it now. Will release for 2024!

Pretty sure they still do psychometric tests as part of the combine that simulate that kind of thing and measure a combination of how quickly players make decisions and whether they make the right ones.

Fox Sports reporting we're doing 13, F1, our F2 for Jackson and the Dons' F3. That's fine by me - get it done, get the boy in. Move on.
That's gross.

Anyone that said yes to the Jackson poll is not allowed to complain about that price (looking at Snuffaluphagus ).

Agreed, i'm ok with that.

It’s gross because finishing 6th, we are more likely to drop than rise with the plethora of players going out.

Essendon finishing 15th are more likely to rise than drop.

I think we would be overstating the impact of players lost for everyone except Rory Lobb.
And you can make an argument that our fixture will be harder next season, but we also managed to play four games against the grand finalists of the year before in 2022, winning three of them.

That's without Fyfe and without Serong for the first quarter of the season, it took Caleb a while to get going this year after that knee.

The sides with the most to worry about for 2023 are Melbourne and Collingwood and they are above us. Not to mention a Sydney smashing hangover.

Our best areas on the field are the middle and defense and they are both intact and improving into 2023.

I am not that into Jackson , I know he is coming , But I share the same opinion of Jackson as Kane Cornes when he said he is just not that great.
I hope I am wrong about him .
I just think he is grossly overhyped and overrated.

To me he is another Lobb.

We are over paying a player, who has done nothing to show he will earn the money. Hope I am wrong.

Jackson is 20 and will want a long career.
Lobb iis 30 and realises this is his last chance.

Plus, Jackson is harder, more agile and athletic, has a better footy IQ, more resilient, has more positional flexibility, loves FFC, but yeah, very similar otherwise and hard (for some it seems) to distinguish the difference.

Luke Jackson is approximately three months older now than Rory Lobb was when he was drafted too. Not that it's relevant but it's interesting.
