Loool Davies, I think his head is more than baked it's scorched. Port aka the "SANFL is too easy for us" Adelaide is the team we are jealous of. Now Hawthorn on the other hand, now that is a team to be jealous about which I certainly am and many others.

He would never say anything like this if he wasn't confident of a win, how embarassing.

Little Brother syndrome in all it's glory in that article, only team Adelaide may be jealous of would be West Coast we couldn't give two shits about what Port is doing
I think you would be hard pressed to find any Adelaide fan that is jealous of port power! Far out.

You're absolutely right, I'm jealous and envious of West Coast because they are so similar to us, but have just done it better.

I'm only envious of clubs with more AFL flags than us-: Geelong, Hawks, Eagles, Richmond & Brisbane.

Port Power? Ummmmmm... no.

Honestly, it just feels like Port has thought "the Crows are terrible this year, so we're definitely going to win this one, so we can afford to say all the dumb sh*t we want to say that doesn't stand up to even the slightest scrutiny because hey, winners are grinners"

Like, imagine saying something that juvenile and embarrassing and then actually losing the match? You would never live it down.

Lol like with Hartlett in the prelim last year...

Ending up ending his own season with his dumb deliberate instead :drunk:

Only West Coast for me.

Big well run interstate club. Respect more than envy

Can someone explain to me what this “Chris Davies” thing is about in 50 words or less

Port, like all AFL clubs, is just made up out of random players from across the country who presumably have no appreciation for Port's history. So he's explaining to them why hating the Crows is righteous and just, as opposed to the Crows who apparently just hate Port because of petty jealousy over their success and heritage.

It's kind of pathetic.

Port need to give their players a full induction to teach them the ways in which they do not like the Adelaide Crows.

We just let Port be Port and the disdain happens more naturally.

In the new video up on AFL.com with Crows and Port player talking about the showdown and previous showdowns there's definitely a difference between Crows and Port players in how they talk about it.
Crows players saying it's a great rivalry, it has a finals like atmosphere, it's a hard contest no matter where we're placed on the ladder, I love playing in the showdown.
Port players were like have to win to rub it my mates face, nothing better than beating the crows, as the smaller of the two clubs in a two team town we just have to win.

Says alot about both clubs mentality around this game.

I have to admit I am VERY jealous of Port. I mean where do I start? Is it their ability to trade in top-end talent like Jack Watts and Tom Rockliff? Is it their amazing Grand Final record (119 points you must admit wont be beaten for awhile)? Could it be their stellar, HAWTHORN like effort in playing in FOUR (count that again, FOUR) finals series in 15 years? What about their ability to claim a heritage, then disclaim it when they wanted to grow their market, then re-claim it (but only for the period it is convenient vis-a-vis the jumper...e.g. 32 years after they came into the league)? Could it be their amazing financial acumen - being $12m in debt, picking up premier sponsors like MG or getting support from an extremely dubious UK steel "magnate" (aka Lyle Langley)? What about their push into China that brought such rich rewards? Could it be the fact they were the first AFL team to lose to the Suns or the GWS (both in their inaugural years)? Could it be the way they stabbed the SANFL in the back, for their own profit and arrogance (we are too good for the SANFL), only to now apparently be the moral guardians of that competition? Could it be the the Never Tear Up our Tarps song at the beginning of their games - which was directly copied from the Premier League yet is claimed as being their "own" organic invention? Could it be the TARPS? Honestly, if the Crows were going to be jealous of clubs they would be the likes of Hawthorn, West Coast, Geelong, Richmond or Sydney...clubs with actual success.

The NTUA start was designed and implemented by their marketing department, yet the supporters think they are having an organic spiritual moment.
Don't forget its convenient cross-promotion with the INXS mini-series that aired on Channel Koch a month earlier. The way they ended up on that song is as plastic as it gets.
