I just don’t see the value in trading someone like Bruce for pick 30. And he ain’t going to the GC. Carlisle worth similar, maybe closer to pick 20.

Who on our list is worth a first round pick? Billings, King, Gresh, Marshall & Clark & that would be it. Ross maybe? All untouchable.

Best bet to get Bing is to send a first round pick & maybe a player that is keen for greater opportunity. Send DMac & tell him it’s GC or 3 years at Sandy.

I reckon Bruce could actually get a first rounder from someone, he's a pretty decent key forward without being a star and teams like Footscray would love him.

How two young Kings and a Membrey would go in the forward line is a different question though

If you take out the romance of reuniting twins, I’m not sure we should be selling the farm for another monster 200+cm KP player.

I know we’re banking on them being messiah twins, but I’d prefer another hunter clark than a second key forward who maybe 5 years off dominating... if he does at all.

a life time ago we took a midfielder over a young KPF that trained with us but then didnt take because we already had a gun forward so there was "no need". I'd have taken the transition from Nick to Jack any day back then and reckon we wouldn't be in such a finals drought now if we had. Sorry to Armo but that was a monumental mistake. let's not repeat and get Bing at the first possible opportunity I say!

I hope you are right. I haven’t got the highest hopes for him. Has certainly improved but I feel he shirks contact a bit to much. Won’t ever be a mid for this reason. He might click into gear with confidence but it doesn’t happen like that often. Something you either have or you don’t usually.

You also need to remember some of the of the talls taken before Riewoldt that year - Gumbleton, Hansen, Leuenberger, Thorp, Reid, Nathan Brown! - all rated as stars at the time.

Joel Selwood was the one from that draft who would have changed everything for us, Geelong were pretty fortunate that all of those tall spuds were taken before him. One pick too late for us.

He needs time. Crying out for a couple of pre seasons and some confidence. I see a lot of Birchall in his game. He’ll be fine.

Thanks. The 2006 draft was all talls apart from Boak, Selwood and Armo but those taken before our first pick (Armo) don't count really because we ah, couldn't take them, and we had the inside running on Jack. My point stands that in my opinion we have the chance at young Key Position player that has shown he can play at the level...do what you can. Kennedy and Darling have shown what happens when you get 2 good ones

Billings > Hill

Billings hasn't got enough credit for how good he has been this season. Genuinely been one of the best wingman in the comp. Hill carries the ball further, approx 2km's more than JB at this stage. I'd be happy with the two of them in the same team. ​
