If they allowed you to keep your seats for a fee would that work
I can't speak for anyone else because i can afford a fee which is what they are proposing via tickettek.
Surely this day of age an app can be created and as its been suggested on multiple times on here. Its your seat up until the morning of the game.No yes then the club can sell your seat. And if someone forgets to notify the club and turns up.Then level 3 Gp he goes.

I think the name calling and animosity shown by some supporters towards others

has added another layer to the failure of Brendon Gale over this matter.

Pretty fair effort to seed such dissension in the tiger heartland

Mr Bean would be proud of your efforts Benny.

Brendon Gale is without question in the top handful of administrators in Australian sport. No amount of sour grapes from you will change that.

I'm a country member and live outside Vic; be thankful you members who live down in that cold wet state that you can go to home games anytime you want if you choose, l only get 1 max 2 opportunities to drive and see the Tigs here, for home games l have to fly, get accomodation etc. I get people don't like giving up a seat they have claimed but boy lm still envious that you can still go to every home game regardless of where you sit.

I live in New Zealand and I second that.

The question is does Brendon Gale feel like he is right now one of the top sports administrators in Australia.

Administrators can and do prioritizing monetary returns over the wishes of long term supporters, nothing new here.

You should contact Benny and offer your unquestioning support for him

I am sure the CEO would appreciate it, it would be a welcomed fillip.

Gale leads our club out of debt, into aligned leisure, into a JV with Swinburne, into a next gen zone other clubs are still furious about, and into a period where the club has finally started being intelligent and long term in its thinking about player recruitment development and coaching.

Oh, and there was that premiership thing.

But, because some people will now be in reserved bays rather than a reserved seat, he's a flog and a shit ceo.....

Personally I hope that flog and shit ceo continues to ruin our club for many more years and premierships to come

But they’ll be squeezing the N7-9 people into N1-6.
The plan is, as I understand it, to move those who want a reserved seat into the Olympic stand and move the Richmond Executive members across next to 3121 so they have access to a room, 3121 will be moved slightly and those that want to remain in N1-6 will then be made flexible seats. The issue I have with this is flexible seating won't stop members from doing the old 2 members enter then one leaves with the 2 memberships and brings in a mate and repeat until 5-6 mates get in. If this happens then it's going to cause all sorts of shit fights when late arriving fans struggle to find seats. For this reason I'd like the club to look at having the attendants from the MCG to have scanners so that when you leave the seating area to go down to level 1, you need to scan out with your membership and scan back in.

What have been his bad decisions?

And I have given him my support already, and will do so at the agm

This is absolutely essential

To sit in the same area with 3 families, we would have to get there earlier. We can't rock up 10 minutes before the game like we have been doing for decades. There's no guaranteed seats for us. We can "pre book" a seat at a cost. If we want our reserved seat, we have to move across to the Olympic stand - the section that is not under cover, in an area that I've never sat it before. That is an increase of $270. If given the choice, I would have happily paid an extra $270 to remain where we are.
But if you pre-book a seat at 6 bucks a game doesn't that work out much less than $270? Not trying to be a smart-arse, just curious what I'm missing here

The Pre booking system is managed by Ticketek. PC members have access to pre book a reserve seat. The available number of seats will be between 112-154 seats. It is unclear if these seat will be available to members or the Public (guests) down the track.

Speaking to the club yesterday, if you are a PC member, and your intention is to move to the Olympic Stand Reserve seating area, you will need to contact the club asap, as they are already collecting "Expressions of interest". My understanding is that the club are considering a section next to the Cheersquad on the lower level for members that have already indicated that they are not renewing, or moving on to an AFL Memberships.

The cost of an app is more than the fee for a ticket approximated across all members, as a software dev by trade, trust me on that

I was at work too. The club didn’t give me the opportunity to sell it back to them. So technically they were the ones that kept it empty

It's easy to see why the system or situation has to change, some sort of buy back or do what we have to do and that is register with ticketek that we are going to the game and are allocated seats.

All members with Reserved seating KT?
It’s the initial overheads of such a system,
They increase if you make it wider-reaching but the initial costs are unavoidable.

Wastage is also a big issue, I was 2 weeks into the UI part of a job and had it thrown out the window to start again because my boss decided it was unwieldy, etc, so we then had to work backwards to get approval on what we told the client and analysts what was better practice here.

I struggle to see how it would be a worthwhile ROI for us (Richmond) let alone the AFL to develop such a system/app. We’re “behind the 8 ball” as it were to established ticketing companies like ticketek

IMHO we’re unfortunately constrained here by the likes of ticketek who at a strong guess may have contracts with the AFL, if not the state government about how the sale of tickets and any potential re-selling work

Tl;dr, the “bean counters” have crunched it and figured this is the only/best plan of action IF we MUST make changes. Of course we could leave it as is but that opens discussions to other issues :)

Can see your point mate.Your right at the end of the day with Tiketek they would have all bases covered. No doubt they would put their hand up to do it.But cancellation fees would just make members not advise of no show.
Back to square one.

the agencies are always a stumbling block on things like this

for resale to work, you need the tickets put on the website as early as possible, but with punters only getting $10 back for their ticket (ie the cost of a beer) most wait until the last minute to offer them up "just in case" their plans change

option 2 of course is ticketek do it, but looking at how clunky their site works for us simply registering for a reserved seat at Etihad, I dont hold out for a user friendly solution from them

I've got reserved seats on level 2A and the reality is even for big games the bay is half empty. The club is much better converting it to a flexible arrangement and overselling marginally so that it's full more often.
And this is what the problem is, people who buy reserves seats and dont turn up regularly ruin it for those who do.

It's easy to blame the club, but at the end of the day, when there is a sell out crowd and the best seats aren't even being filled because of people who dont turn up, what else are they meant to do?!

I do feel for those that show up faithfully week in and week out though, they are the ones getting the raw end of the stick here and through no fault of thier own.

It's an impossible situation really!
