2019 Draft

Would this years and next years first get us up to say pick 10-12 if he started to slide to that range?
I'm pretty convinced that the Dogs insisted on holding Pick 13 with McAsey in mind. If he goes before then, and Kemp is still around, I reckon Richmond could get a deal done. Would rather we just took Kemp ourselves, but it's not like we have a shortage of big bodied mids

Pick 14 or thereabouts

Have heard there’s a couple of players who we are very bullish about that won’t be there at our pick

I heard this a couple of days ago but has been floated on other sites
Surely we got the kid to tank his pre draft interview with other clubs, ie: i love to party and in two years i will just ask for a trade to chase the cash anyway.

And then we just pick him up in the Supplementary Selection period for free Sydney Stack style.

21. Richmond: Cooper Stephens (VIC)
Height, Weight: 188cm/83kg
Profile: Strong ball-winning midfielder who distributes effectively by hand and bursts out of stoppages at speed. Has not played since Round 3 due to a fractured fibula.
For some reason, I'm not convinced on Stephens but happy to be proven wrong - will back him if picked but I would love Trent Rivers here as he is still available on the phantom draft.

38. Richmond: Mitch O'Neill (TAS)
Height, Weight: 176cm/72kg
Profile: Touted a potential first round selection at the beginning of the season, O'Neill has struggled with injury for much of the year. O'Neill is an outside midfielder who is a polished ball user and moves well.
Happy with this.

39. Richmond: Darcy Cassar (VIC)
Height, Weight: 184cm/82kg
Profile: Midfielder with the versatility to play forward or back. Cassar does his best work on the outside and possesses good skills.
Happy with this but Brock Smith goes with the very next pick who I like - tough one.
41. Richmond: Cooper Sharman (VIC)
Height, Weight: 192cm/79kg
Profile: Goalkicking forward who doesn't need much of the ball to hit the scoreboard heavily. One of the best readers of the ball in flight in the draft, strong overhead and clean at ground level.
I guess we need to bring in some KPP's.

Trust our recruiters, they've been excellent the past few years. Really excited for this time of year. Something I really enjoy and can't wait for next week!

Exactly, they've nailed so many selections.

I'm watching clips at work, what would I know. Looking forward to next Wednesday/Thursday.

Kemp is probably the last type of player the Doggies need and would be looking for either a KPD or Small Fwd imo , Weightman might still be available at #19 if that trade was to be considered but what would the Doggies be wanting to downgrade their #13 to #19

On another note - Knightmare has conveniently selected for Collingwood ;)
35. Collingwood: Mitch Georgiades (WA)
Height, Weight:
192cm/87kg
Profile: The son of former Footscray forward John, Mitch is an athletic key forward who missed the season with a quad injury. Georgiades possesses a good leap, speed and is a strong mark aerially and on the lead.

Be a great pick up for the Doggies...MGeorgiades...him and Naghton, twin towers, would terrify defenders...a bit like us and wet toast...

If he goes to scumwood i hope he does what his old man did, kick 8 on debut then disappear.

I'm kinda disappointed that we mostly traded out of this draft - Georgiades could be a steal since he missed most of this year with that quad injury. I know you shouldn't get roped into the fairytales of grabbing every player you can with a family link, but I like Mitch :(

For Dogs to downgrade our Pick 13, I'd assume Richmond would be the ones desperate so would likely overpay. I'd be thinking we'd try snag your next years 1st if possible (assuming it's 16-18) and send a 3rd on the way back. Would be massively in our favour, but in the context of the draft it would mean Richmond snagging a player who I rate as top 5 in this draft (really only Rowell is outright better, Kemp has argument for being 2nd best if it weren't for that knee).

In fairness, I'd bet it would more likely take a 2nd to get that kind of deal done, but in the context of live trading, it's often the team desperately trying to trade up that gets reamed, which is why I'm suggesting something so heavily in the Dogs favour. I'd personally want the value of an early to mid second rounder as payment for swapping 13 for 19, but I'd guess the price would be higher in reality

There is no chance i would do that deal to upgrade from 19 to 13

Kemp is in reality the 5th best player in this draft with some having him at 4 but Rowell,Green,Flanders,Young,Ash,Anderson,Jackson all having claims
when you add in a Knee reconstruction then things get a little messy but at 13 he is good value but at 5-6 i would be taking other players
but think of it this way 1 more knee and he is worth pick 30+

I wouldn't do the deal either if I were Richmond - I'm simply suggesting what I think it would likely end up costing. Hardly worth doing unless Richmond think he's the next coming of Bontempelli like some have suggested (which is a huge gamble)

Probably not a need for us but that small forward Liam Henry would look great in our forward line

looks like he loves to hurt blokes like stack and keep opp players on their toes

although I think he’s a freo accadamy kid so they will probably match any bids

Couldn't find a better place to post this but just thought I'd see if this pick swap would be appealing at all to Richmond fans

Hawks trade Picks 30 & 54 to Richmond for Picks 39, 41 & 56

I don't mind pick 30.

30 for 41 & 56 is about right.

Slight difference in points but you lose 30 if you have to match so in the scheme of things its still a clear win for the Hawks to do the trade.

RFC definitely need to trade up in the draft I think.

41 and 56 for 30.

Than I would get pick 22 from Freo for picks 38 and 39.

Then could trade pick 19 and next years first for Hawks 11 and a draft pick back if Kemp is about. Hawks might want Cooper Stephens as is Hawks supporter
