Take Brown as a FA. Effectively replaces Spud but is an actual KPD.

Trade first this year, 2nd next year for Swallow.

Get picks for Black, Mullett and McKenzie. Whatever we can.

First 22:

B: Thompson – Brown – Wright

HB: Atley – Tarrant – McDonald

C: Wells – D. Swallow – Anderson

HF: Higgins – Wood – Garner

F: Thomas – Brown – Waite/Daw

R: Goldy – Cunnington – Clarke

Int: Ziebell – A. Swallow – Macmillan – Dumont

Other:

B: Vickers-Willis – Nielsen - Hansen

HB: Hibberd – Durdin - Fordham

C: Mountford – Jacobs – Gibson

HF: Turner – Daw/Waite - Wagner

F: ??? – McKay - ???

R: Preuss - ??? - ???

Int: ??? - ??? - ??? - ???

Out:

Primary list: Harvey – Petrie – Firitto – Dal Santo –Mullett – McKenzie – Black - Tippett

Rookie List: Ray – Nahas

In:

Primary list: D. Swallow – N.Brown – 6 draft picks

Rookie list: 2 rookie picks

is D.Swallow worth that much? has played 79 of a possible 132 games, missed 53 games in 6 seasons, compare this to other players taken after him in the 2010 draft, Smith 133, Gaff 131 games, Atley 131 games, Darling 127 games, Parker 123 games, crikey he has played 2 games more then Jacobs, in my eyes his value has slipped dramatically from where he was valued 6 years ago, I'd offer our 2nd round this year and 4th rounder either this or next year when at best value for points for GC, a first and second would be the value of an under-performing Swallow, not a non-performing, 6 games in the last two friggen years, aint gambling a first on that.

Take that and run! However I don't think we'd be able to pull this off...

Perhaps Hansen + 3rd for Lennon only.
Thompson + 2nd + Atley for Swallow.

Hansen & 3rd --> Lennon & 3rd
FA cash --> N. Brown
S. Thompson & 2nd --> D. Swallow
FA cash -- Mayne

OUT: Hansen (trade), Firrito, Harvey, Petrie, Dal Santo (ret.), McKenzie, Nahas, Tippett, Ray (del.)
IN: Lennon, N. Brown, D. Swallow, Mayne, draftees

Wright -- Tarrant -- McDonald
MacMillan -- N. Brown -- Atley
Wells -- Ziebell -- Gibson
Wood -- Waite -- Higgins
Thomas -- B. Brown -- Daw

Goldstein -- D. Swallow -- Cunnington

A. Swallow -- Jacobs -- Vickers-Willis -- Dumont

Mullett -- Garner -- Hibberd -- Turner -- Wagner -- Mountford -- Clarke -- McKay -- Durdin -- Mayne -- draftees

I don't know, there's too much guessing.

can we trade something twice? O'Meara for 5 x our second rounder this year :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu: oh and Basti ;)

he looked promising and probably should have played in the Elimination final. Is a good ball user too i would get him if he comes cheap.
Was a suprise omission from last year final and nearly left last year because he wasnt happy and if i remember correctly his form didnt warrant being dropped

Well you'd only trade for him if you were confident his knee isn't an issue, and in that case he's absolutely worth giving up value for.

I expect they would prefer to let him run down his contract than accept crap picks for him.

Does EVW or Mitch Hibberd replace Firrito. Thats the path I thought we were taking!

Sure but there's nothing wrong with a reliable big body if one or both don't come on or get injured. They still have zero games between them after all, the avid VFL watchers will be a better judge than me.

You would think that's the plan, but going into the season with 2 players that can't stay on the park would be very risky. I think we paid that price this season. Also i doubt either could play tall given their age and build at the moment.

Hopefully both get a full pre-season so they can stake their claim.

Brown offers the backup we don't have whilst potentially being best 22.

The more I think about it the more I would be prepared to trade Jacobs to get D Swallow. Jacobs is a great stopper and can do a bit offensively, but the main reason we need that role is because we lack A grade quality in the midfield to go toe to toe with other A grade midfields. Getting Swallow would actually address that.

In addition, Dumont has shown an ability to play as a stopper this year. Not as well as Jacobs but he does offer more offensively. Might only be room for one of Jacobs and Dumont next year and I'd go with Dumont. Jacobs is too good to be a depth player in the twos and would have some value at the trade table.

Jacobs and our 2017 2nd round pick to GC for D Swallow.

No he's not and maybe we've gone a little cold or someone else has caught our eye.

We wont be getting anyone special just a chris mayne, nathan brown. No big names want to come to north

get Lennon on the cheap for Hansen + a third rounder
I would have thought a guy who cant break into Richmonds team would come to us, for Hansen, and their 3rd rounder, not ours.

I dont agree with the hate for Hansen either. I like him, and hope he is on our list next year and beyond. He'll be invaluable for the younger backs we have!
