Reckon he is going to take some time. There is not much of him at this stage.

Yeah for sure. Especially considering his position, there's tons of competition. Mayes, Robertson etc will make sure he will have to earn his spot

From Nicks comments, the training is very competitive with a very obvious competition for spots.
A lot of physical jousting the odd push and shove as well as high spirited verbal conflicts!
I asked him how he was with that and he said no probs Dad it's good that we are all going to have to bust our arse to get a spot!
Great for team I reckon.

Exactly what you want. A few players would have coasted a bit the last few years knowing they had a spot, not anymore. Think we might see a bit more improvement and leadership from some senior players this year which will be great. They know how talented some of the kids we have are and can only see it pushing the whole group to improve.

Rained for a bit, but mostly overcast conditions for today's training, hence the darker photos.


Dialing up the exposure comp 1/3 - 2/3 will brighten them up on gloomy days. (Not sure but Nikon could be 1/2 stops, if so 1/2 is fine)

Look like they were shot at about 400 iso or lower - on a dark day you probably need at least 800 on a slowish lense.

AFL site had our trainees joining later in december as we're away on camp this week and a bit of next I think.

Looking forward to seeing how the new kids etc fit into the mix. If there's increased competition for spots that can only be a good thing.

We need to get a grip on reality though- there were kids who were getting games last year when their point of development really didn't justify selection so there will be opportunities for those who put their hands up. New or old.

Hard to argue against the point that the addition of Beams and Christensen, along with Rich and Staker who will return as almost new recruits, will add considerably to our skills base. Forgot West who was outstanding until he went down.

Especially hoping McStay and Close have break-out years as others have correctly identified a KPP deficiency as our highest order deficiency. Maybe a raid next season on another club [Essendon?] to assist in this a la our Beams coup.
