Not sure if this is factual but he has to be the most accurate full forward kick within 40m at this stage? (Possibly even last season?)
LuvtheKangas and I were chatting to him at last year’s Syd about this. His point was basically that you owe it to yourself as a key forward to put in the work on kicking straight. "If you’re only going to get 8 touches, 3.1 is a good day, and 1.3 is letting the team down."

Ok, so it sounds like the bleeding obvious when I write it down, but at the time a few beers in, it seemed insightful.

there was a time in the last 18 months when he was the mot accurate kick on goal since 1965. Dunno if he still is but if he dropped off the last two weeks would have seen him right back up there.

It is but you wouldn't necessarily know it from watching footy.

Also ... I reckon part of that attitude would come from watching Ben brown when he was first drafted.

Nick doesn't just resemble Drew Petrie visually or wear the same number, think he's similarly taken for granted as a chess piece at the same career stage despite some of the posts above. A few years in Drew become a guaranteed contested mark and would inevitably win whatever position he was put to on-field.

Larkey is a 198cm key forward taken in the bumhole rounds of the draft yet has been our leading goalkicker for a few years. He carries himself with such authority off-field and plays such a really consistent style of game in terms of workrate that he's easy to overlook for newer, shinier toys a lot in discussion on here.

One thing I've noticed is that he struggles to get away from his opponent at times. I think he has quite predictable running patterns.

Probably the only thing about his game that annoys me. He's a 24 year old KPF who is leading the Coleman over the first 2 rounds, I can't complain too much lol

Lacks speed off the mark, strength, and a vertical leap.
Instead relies on work rate, smarts, free kicks etc.
