I am not convinced Marnus should be dropped, but Patterson should be a live top/middle order option.

Genuine question as I'm not in the loop with State cricket currently - who do you want to see dropped and replaced by for the second test?

Marnus or Smith should realistically get the chop. Erring toward Marnus as he looks like he is in a heck of a tangle mentally whereas Smudge is just getting slower with age. Smudge a chance to still put on a score if the deck is benign.

I'm reasonably onboard with Head to open, McSweeney at first drop and Inglis to 5.
If Marsh isn't right to bowl I don't mind Marsh move up to 5 and bring in Webster at 6 rather than the Inglis option. Unless we have a younger allrounder in form that I've missed.

Either way I think Usman/Labu and Smith all need to be put on notice that the only currency they have now are runs. The best way to do that is to sit one of them out.
