I think its mainly just total frustration because they care too much
well I'd put myself in that 'care too much' camp as well. We all say things in the frustration of moment but just the continual loathing about past failures is what I can't stand. At the end of the day this is a football club, we don't follow it by obligation, we follow it because we want to and with that comes embracing the good and the bad, the success and the failure

It must be a great honour to get to that legend status
i see what you did there bill hader GIF

Can’t say I was always confident we would win but there was only one situation where I started to worry we’d be blown off the park….and that’s where brisbane got out to a 13 point lead in the second quarter. We immediately turned that around and led at half time. It’s then I knew we were going to be in it all the way to the end and Brisbane weren’t going to just have it handed to them on a plate.

Time on in the second quarter was absolutely a game changer.

You’re doing it wrong, the game day thread has nothing to do with logic (or the game)

It’s a two hour competition of whose monkey brain can type the craziest things.
The teflon rule applies too. Nothing you say sticks. Like being a parliamentarian where anything said in the house stays in the house in the sense that you can't be held responsible for it outside the thread.

Despite being a KISS fan for 45 years I was too nervous to concentrate on their performance.
Just watched it again and they did a really good job. Would have preferred Deuce over I was made for loving you, but the whole production was awesome.

KISS were great

They chose 3 perfect stadium bangers that got people singing

Call it delusion, but I was confident that we would win, which meant the day was fantastic, not so much relief when we won

Didn’t leave the ground until 5 minutes after they sung in the rooms

As much as I loved the wins from 90 and 10, this is my favourite Collingwood game

We f*cking did it - still easy to mist-up about what a joy it is

To be honest it's pretty obvious that passions rule the brain in the game day threads.
There is a direct correlation between the passion of the writer and the lunacy of the post.

Slack should be cut.

I know at my place normally there is a surfeit of TV abuse, under the breath ""FARKING", brisk walks to the garage mumbling expletives unfit for normal human ears. My cats know the area between the Lounge TV, Deck TV and the garage are graveyards waiting to filled by errant feline.
Umpires have been hung, drawn, and quartered metaphorically along with many a player, later to be resurrected as heroes, sometime only minutes later.

I just want to make it clear that umpires are never "resurrected".
they remain dead to me.

Just saw mason Cox in south Yarra

Was gonna ask for a photo but the man was in a rush and has very long strides

I always thought that whenever we hear people in clubland say “Our supporters are the most passionate”, they intend it at as a polite euphemism for something else (eg: “Our supporters are the most batshit crazy”)

‘Fans’ who bag players are not passionate.
They are gutless.

They have never said “well done” either, in fact they act like the GF and our win never happened.

I’m not ever going to let them forget.
Had a Tiger friend in 18 crowing before the prelim. Crickets after they lost.

The bloke was on the blower less than half an hour after the Granny. WTF?

He's no longer a friend.

You’re a more passionate man than me.

“Tsk tsk tsk” (sometimes while shaking head) is as feral as I get.

Here are some of the gems from the Match Day Thread - no need to name names, the campaigners know who they are.

First Half

2003 vibes.

call it heresy, but if we still had a sub I’d get Pendles off.
Shocking game.
(Murphy was already subbed out)

Sidey playing his dumb game, one good one dumb

Brisbane too efficient
Too many crap collingwood players imo

We need to sub out Sidebottom Ginnivan Pendlebury
Too ******* slow
(Murphy was already subbed out)

Josh isn't an AA player

Lions smarter and more physical

We are seriously cooked

They be kicking away now...

We are done
lost it at selection with not selecting running power

Collywobbles, Pies are going to cop it hard

Completely out coached
Players can't handle the pressure.
Need something special at half time or this team is done, and just for 2023.

Second Half

God Pendlebury is so weak over the ball for a big guy

PENDLEBURY PLEASE DO SOMETHING

These Daicoses need to be better..

i remember when darcy moore was a good player..

This is so Collingwood.
Grand Final and spudding it up.

I think that Mcreery kick cost us the game, just have to be better than that in a grand final son.

Colliwobbles

Bunch of chokers!

They are seriously a dumb side

Choke another grand final and you pack this team up and start a 5 year rebuild

Typical Ending to a Close Collingwood Grand Final.
Get a Late Goal Kicked against us for us to Lose
Can I ask you, how is life passionless?
Because if you cannot see and feel the passion in the game day thread you must live a passionless life.
I am very passionate and it shows in my game day thread postings. And I revel in those game day thread postings of my fellow Collingwood passionates.
I feel for you having to post this apparent “dissing” of my fellow passionates.

You've lost it lately mate.
Feck the passionates if dishing our players is your thing.
Followed by such and such player I dished "is great"
It's not being passionate. It's being an annoying dickhead.

none of the quotes I posted have anything to do with passion, and everything to do with mindless abuse.
