Autopsy Collingwood: Where to from here?

Graeme Wright was the footy boss (not CEO), but the point still stands.

Autopsy Collingwood: Where to from here?

Adams got traded to Sydney last year.

Where do you *realistically* see your club going in the next 5 years?

I’d expect Collingwood to drop off a cliff at some stage. We’ve got an aging list (all the 30+ players are going around again next year) and apart from Nick Daicos not a lot of young talent pushing through, and we don’t have a lot of draft / trade capital. I don’t expect us to hit rock bottom...

Banter Carlton is better in 2024. Who will be better in 2025? Carlton or Collingwood? Part 3

3 rounds yet to play and Collingwood clearly have the better form. Since June Carlton have only beaten North. By contrast Collingwood have just defeated Premiership favourites and the bestest most amazing team in Carlton.

Banter Carlton is better in 2024. Who will be better in 2025? Carlton or Collingwood? Part 3

Dunno, what century did Carlton last turn up to a Grand Final?

Chris Scott Wants A Mid-Season Shutdown Implemented ............. What Bloody Next ???

Not really. Senior coaching would be an all-consuming job - and not just in-season. There are 44 players to keep track of, 17 other teams to keep track of, media commitments, sponsor’s commitments, training prep with assistants, running training sessions, plotting Gameplan, game review...

Chris Scott Wants A Mid-Season Shutdown Implemented ............. What Bloody Next ???

I think the point is that the players getting their break (the bye, as you say) … … but the coaching panel are not. The coaches still need to work during their bye round because future opponents are playing games. Playing no games during a bye round means the whole competition being able to...

Chris Scott Wants A Mid-Season Shutdown Implemented ............. What Bloody Next ???

I think he’s got a point. Give the whole competition a week off. But it’s one those suggestions you happily toss out safe in the knowledge it’ll never happen. The broadcasters would never support it.

Laura Kane - Does Not Impress Me At All !!

Oh, c’mon, are you really suggesting you’ve never seen examples of that paid the other way? The nature of our game means that you could find vision to support any position you like … … but what we see happen many times every game is a player taking an uncontested mark and immediately playing...

    Laura is not a boy?

Laura Kane - Does Not Impress Me At All !!

Not true. When players mark the footy and immediately play on, their opponents don’t sit and wait around for the umpire to call “play on”. That happens all the time.

Banter Who will be better in 2024? Carlton or Collingwood?

Wait, what?!? “Behind”? How did that happen? Collingwood have a Premiership hangover and Carlton are destined to be 2024 Premiers

Banter Who will be better in 2024? Carlton or Collingwood?

To be fair, one side has had a lot more practice giving it, and the other side has had a lot more practice taking it.

Banter Who will be better in 2024? Carlton or Collingwood?

Ah, so that’s what you’re trying to do! I guess it must be disappointing that your footy club doesn’t provide you with any material to work with? :)

Banter Who will be better in 2024? Carlton or Collingwood?

Let’s be realistic, either team could have won that game. Carlton certainly had their chances to win it. And Carlton did dominate in patches. But Collingwood were the better team across the four quarters. Probably best for Carlton that they did lose it to provide them with a fair indication...

Banter Who will be better in 2024? Carlton or Collingwood?

You do realise Collingwood (+ Carlton no doubt) have members all around the country who aren’t able to fly to Melbourne every other weekend to watch home games?

LOL. Cue Jeremy Howe taking one over Harry next weekend.

List Mgmt. Next club to face a rebuild.

+ Howe and Cox, + Mihocek. WHE and Crisp now over 30 and not far behind them. Pendlebury, Mitchell and Cox being the most problematic to cover IMO.

Annual rant - ANZAC jumpers and merch

Some of my local RSL’s had their ceremony this year on April 21st? (Presumably to allow some folks to go to both their local service and one of the bigger services) It’s a difficult one - how do you remind your society take their security seriously, and not take their freedoms for granted, when...

Ah lovely, tell us more about the good old days. I heard that the cool kids used to listen to the Bay City Rollers on cassette tape, is that really true?

Banter Who will be better in 2024? Carlton or Collingwood?

We’re just conscious that having a team that’s decent not rubbish is a novel concept to the Carlton folks … … it’s prudent not to peak too early.

Carlton are the one to watch out for - They can win The Premiership

Let me rephrase - It hasn’t even been 12 months since Carlton had won only 5 games by round 15.

Pro tip: You don’t talk about “meaningless games” until after you’ve qualified.
