Just for the conversation while we wait for anything positive to occur.

Eagles end up with pick 1 or maybe 2. They trade Jackson from Melbourne for that pick or they trade out 1 of their older champions to fuel a re-build for the Jackson deal. Melbourne have a very high draft pick - Does that change the Ascroft decision?

Leaving aside the merits of this a commitment would have been made one way or the other before the trade period.

Me to.

From what I’ve heard, Metro is deep for inside mids, and Levi isn’t one of the top talents, so he’s asked to play a different role.
Levi is definitely an inside player same with Tom Gross but because they do have the ability to play other positions they do.

If you're Will and have the opportunity to contend for a flag then play with your brother...or play for West Coast or North... You'd be insane to not choose Brisbane lol.

The one exception being if he was desperate to stay in Vic and we know that's not the case

Also the former #1 pick would probably rather be a garbo in SA than play for the Roos which is a bit of a red flag for young Will

North's internal rumblings does help. North or West coast holding pick 1 is the sealer.

Will Ashcroft could also compare how Daicos is going in a team that is doing well to Horne-Francis at North. Lots of factors to consider.

I'm still a bit concerned that Essendon will likely have pick 3. If it looks like West Coast will take Wardlaw and the Roos will go for a KPP, would Will be tempted to gamble on Essendon taking him?

Ashcroft wil be a Lion.

West Coat will likely turn it around, they're a massive and highly successful club. They would not be a bad team to end up with IMO. North however.... not sure anything is worth that risk.

Another basket case though, his dad will guide him well IMO. Brisbane is easily the best option for him. The only question that the Ashcrofts have to ponder IMO is that can Brisbane sustain success or will we drop off like we did after 05 and spend a decade + in the wilderness. I would think the answer to that is no, we are a well run club at the moment, the new training ground etc shows investment and stability in the future on top of the father/son things that may be a consideration.
Will he get/does he want #10 though?

He knows, the young players he will be coming in with. Would be confident in them. Does he have any history with young Fletcher?

Would love to see a player go to a team where all the 'good' numbers are taken and ask for #69. Yes I am immature.

My son has to select a jersey number. He really really want number 11, so he put 69 as his second choice. He figured correctly that there was no way they would give out 69, and he got his beloved 11.

Your son is a genius. If I can play footy next year (vets), and 3 or 33 are taken I'll definitely be going for 69. Though is vets so they'll probably let me.
I'm not superstitious at all other than jumper numbers.
