Game Day R9 v Richmond

Can't do much with a game like this. Either win by heaps and no one cares because it's only Richmond, or lose the unloseable (again) and it's an embarrassment.

Get some form back into a few guys hopefully. Get some experience on the G. Bring back some points and percentage. Should be aiming for a 10 goal win if we still think we're good.

Or get some games into emerging talent on the G

Nah I’m fully aware.

Games have all been fairly close this weekend bar the Cats game last night...

No idea what to expect, we haven't looked clinical/ruthless all year.... Dawson a very welcome addition.

This is the type of game that TT, Rankine, Rachelle all need to fill their boots and dominate.

Weather very overcast and dreary here in Melb but looks like will clear a little later, dont expect rain.

Expecting a scrappy, frustrating 26 point win...
I'll be happy with a win, full stop. I'm just hoping the players turn up, and it's not a debacle like the Crows' SANFL game yesterday.

There only games where they’ve not been beaten by around or more than 10 goals was Blues round 1 4pts, Port at G 42pts and 11 point away win v Eagles. If we’re a 4-8 type side and with decent conditions, we should be winning by 10 goals today. Jack loves thinking that predicting different to the Sportsbet line somehow means your judgement is flawed. It’s always been a fairly strange attempt at a flex.
Do you think that Sportsbet are in the business of handing over easy money to South Australians?

A six goal win is the collective wisdom of the market at this time. The margins are almost always above or below the line. The market was way off for our match in Sydney last year.

The line is lower than 10 goals because we have struggled all season. With the return of Dawson and Rankine, Rachele and Soligo looking like they are ready to explode I would not be surprised by a 10 goals win.

The market is 6 goals because we’ve been ordinary, that’s not a reason to accept a 6 goal win. If we are a serious side this has to be a 10 goal plus win, anything less just confirms we are an ordinary side in 2026 and have gone backwards.

A six goal win sounds about right for 12th vs 18th

The problem is, after last year, this should probably be a top 6 vs 18th contest

I’m surprised you didn’t say 20 to guarantee you have a reason to kick the boot in!

I don’t think it adds anything to our discussion. You just provided some rationale for us winning by 10 goals. Should I suggest you mortgage your house and plonk it on the line as a way of disagreeing with your view? What would it actually add to the discussion?

I want a big win to get our groove back. Still looking to kickstart our season.

But even when we played Carlton, who are 1-8, we didn’t make it look easy.

Carlton have led bearing half time in every game prior to Friday night though. Tyrone played good footy, just not got 4 quarters.

You think it’s unreasonable to have critical views of our club? Surely you agree that we should be winning against Tigers by around the 10 goal mark today. Or are you one of the dullards that rate all wins as rampant success stories?

There is no doubt that Richmond are decimated by injuries and even with a full squad would be struggling.

We still have 6 of our best 18 missing (Keane, Hinge, Walker, Butts, Ah Chee and Fogarty). An even bigger problem is the players who are carrying injuries or returning from injuries (Thilthorpe, ANB, Soligo, Curtin), are for whatever reason playing well below their 2025 form (Butts, Michalanney, Cumming, Peatling, Keays) or are fringe/ developing players (Bond, Borlase, Taylor, Pedlar).
