Remember this. This part In particular probably a reflection where we are at now:

“You just feel like you’re playing your own game and you have got no real support from the guys around you.”

The players look so disconnected.

Imagine Koch holding the team accountable again

But Longmire, who had been contracted as head coach for 2025, will take on a new role with Sydney as executive director — club performance.

Longmire did what's need at Port.

Longmire was pushed.

Best thing Koch ever did was go ballistic at the players after the 2017 EF loss.

Worst thing he ever did was then sheepishly back down on it and grovelling, to the point where eight years later he’s still too gunshy to pull the trigger on a hard call and the club is paying for it big time.

Speaking of Hartlett I saw him on the bench too with headphones on. Talk about a confidence-killer.

Ken is yesterday's news and the year is a write-off. We knew that going in to Round 1 under the 4D chess succession plan. The reason to get rid of Ken now has nothing to do with Ken, it's because there are question marks over Josh Carr too, and the sooner the clock starts ticking on Carr as Senior Coach, the sooner we'll be in a position to make a call on him in that role one way or the other. Is it a bit unfair to throw Carr into the role mid-season and count the results for/against him? Yeah, probably. But we sure as shit don't want to spend another decade mired in mediocrity stability. Start the car and start the clock.

What's more likely, that Carr isn't ready yet or the club is trying to save face and money by not moving on Ken.
On what basis have Koch and his bunch of accountants, lawyers and a disruptor decided that Carr, who they have given a three year contract to be head coach, isn't ready for that role?

It's purely the club trying to save face and money.

Hopefully after a couple more floggings or losing to teams we shouldn't, they will sack Hinkley and bring in Carr.
They’re just making it so much harder for Josh, the players and the supporters by not doing it now.

As the losses pile up, the negative gloom hanging over the club will grow, the disconnect and apathy grows, and the papers of guys like Bergman and Butters will effectively be stamped, if not already.

This is literally like letting cancer go untreated when your doctor has told you an obvious remedy will give you a 95% chance of survival.

LOL Hartlett. I laugh more at Lobbe and Sutcliffe tbh.

Yeah but they're just in the background and tbh our rucks are alright at least. Who knows what Sutcliffe does? Washes Ken's Rav4?

But Hartlett coaches the Magpies. A highly visible outcome of our incestuous recruiting practices.
