I'm no Draper fan, but I think he's up forward because they have so few options.
He is marking it.
He was brave enough to develop and implement an effective goal kicking technique that works for him.
Two areas he is ahead of ROB.

But if hes coming to replace ROB as a ruck then he's an inferior ruck, and he's not required to play forward in our side.He is marking it.

i'd rather see what t murray offers before entertaining draper. he'd seemingly command a big wage and doesnt have the ability to be a first ruck. we hardly need to waste 800k+ if that is the figure to be believed on an inferior thilthorpe.I'm not a Draper fan but if we need a ruck without giving up any draft capital I'm not as against it as others on here. I think that's the main reason we would of entertained the idea.

TBH I'm not sure he will demand a bank breaking wage. Primarily because Essendon are likely incentivised to take a compo pick given they are already talking about a list rebuild and looking like a potential bottom 4 side.i'd rather see what t murray offers before entertaining draper. he'd seemingly command a big wage and doesnt have the ability to be a first ruck. we hardly need to waste 800k+ if that is the figure to be believed on an inferior thilthorpe.
Why wouldn't Essendon offer to match if Draper's wage isn't enough to get them band 1 or at least band 2 if they know we are desperatee to lure him away? Dodoro isn't in charge anymore it's Matt Rosa in charge now.TBH I'm not sure he will demand a bank breaking wage. If I were the Crows (assuming they want him) I would not throw the number above band 2 or even band 3. The Bombers are guaranteed to not match that if a pick in the late teens early twenties comes back. And I don't see anyone else in the market for him to drive the price up
well - he did kick 3 goals, but yes you would expect him back in the ruck once 2m Peter is backSo you would expect when Peter Wright is good to go in a couple of weeks Draper will then be their 1st ruck choice?
not sure if Ramsden (who isn't from SA) will want to move from a big Vic team to Adelaide, even though his prospects of getting a game would be betterWhy wouldn't Essendon offer to match if Draper's wage isn't enough to get them band 1 or at least band 2 if they know we are desperatee to lure him away? I'd much rather target Max Ramsden who is 5 or 6 years younger and better skilled who is currently cooling his jets behind Lloyd Meek and Ned Reeves.

But I'd really like a good ruckman.so how hard is the afl media going to try and push draper to us to kickstart essendon's rebuild?
Did some poster say this is The Clubs best list ever assembled ....... and that it just lacked experience

Note: there's a big difference between having a great list, and winning a Flag ....just ask Cameron & his GWS Lamborghini list

IMO any club who's coach is using his teams upcoming draft hand in their answers on AFL 360 after round 2, are telegraphing their intentions. And its not retaining over priced middle of the pack FA ruckman. Why wouldn't Essendon offer to match if Draper's wage isn't enough to get them band 1 or at least band 2 if they know we are desperatee to lure him away? SameI don't want anyone else.
Going at 90% goal kicking
Agreed, Draper is a potato with one great highlight in an otherwise underwhelming career at a nothing club and I suspect we're realising now that he won't make us better. He'll be our dodged bullet for this year a la Harrison Petty - imagine there's still some at Melbourne who wake up in a cold sweat remembering turning down 2 x 1st round picks for him.IMO any club who's coach is using his teams upcoming draft hand in their answers on AFL 360 after round 2, are telegraphing their intentions. TBH I'm predicting the word "firesale" to be used in relation to Essendon within the next 3 months. Also predict reports that the Crows have cooled on Draper.

I thought we were looking for a ruckman to replace ROB for the immediate future not a forward to replace Thilthorpe or Fog?Going at 90% goal kicking
So why are we worried about kicking then, that’s not a ruckman go?I thought we were looking for a ruckman to replace ROB for the immediate future not a forward to replace Thilthorpe or Fog?
From memory you’re a golfer, maybe ex off scratch? Anyway, I’ve resorted to drastic changes to try and cure putting yips in the past. Went through a stage of just walking up, ball at front foot, back foot behind like I’m still walking and just hitting it like I’m knocking it in from a couple of inches. One I’m still doing, even though I play very rarely. I’m still terrified of beginning the putting stroke, so I line up and am frozen, what breaks it is I remove my hands from the grip, reapply and go. My chest has tightened just typing this.
Considering how much that comments grossly undersells the 1997/1998 lists (in particular), I don't know if I'd be crowing about that just because someone said 'destination club'.
And once thebarton is finished, oh boy woweeCornes hypothesising NWM querying Powers prospects going forward and would he want to join them. Saying their list is in trouble and not attractive to coaches (compared to Bulldogs he used)
Crows pulling away here as THE destination club - certainly in the SA market
Not so sure. Its possible NWM looks at ladder position but if he is setting his future up it wont matterCornes hypothesising NWM querying Powers prospects going forward and would he want to join them. Saying Powers list is in trouble and not attractive to coaches (compared to Bulldogs he used)
Well ROB' kicking efficiency after 2 rounds was superior to that of Draper is all.So why are we worried about kicking then, that’s not a ruckman go?
