As much as I dislike kern, it was choco who started this cue in the rack 2nd half BS with valuable percentage points being regularly flushed around the `S' bend to Bolivar.

Back then as soon as players started waving the ball above their heads you knew it was time to switch off the tv, start the lawn mower, and then be prepared to be absolutely p***** off when you checked the final score an hour or so later.
That’s absolutely right. I used to hate when the players did that, the opposition knew exactly what was coming and you could hear the crowd groan as soon as it happened.

Meh, ordinary performance really.

Some really nice ball movement at times. The kicking boots were on today for sure. Even in the tricky windy conditions.

However overall the defensive efforts and clangers made by all our defenders in particular were horrific.

With an 81 point margin at 3qtr time, Geelong or Brisbane would have won by 120+. We win by 72. Classic Port under Hinkley.

Some decent signs in terms of the gameplan being more run and carry based, but it certainly helped that Richmond kept giving us the ball and flat out refused to punish our many, many mistakes.

I love how when we lose the free kick count in a loss it's all "well you've gotta get to the ball first to get rewarded" and then when we have 200 more disposals we're still nowhere near our opponent's free kick count.

We're currently in our 4th consecutive season of being bottom 4 in free kick differential.

So bloody frustrating

Pretty concerning which no one has brought up yet is the fitness in the last. Run over by a club full of teenagers didnt see many cramping. Meanwhile Richards Burton Mead Rioli etc cramping.

Berry is totally fine. He hasnt been playing forward pocket hes been thrown everywhere already. He played starting circle in his first game ffs. Missed couple of set shots sure but they werent absolute John Butcher shanks. Berry was also one of the few cramping in the last and kept on running along with Moraes. The alternative is Mc n cheese and who really wants him back in the side

Well it didn't appear to matter in that 4th quarter that our percentage was dogshit and needed fixing. But that's fitting with our 2025 theme: it doesn't matter. The usual boring shithouse cue in the rack shit under Ken.

Anyway, some thoughts on a few of our players with the limited attention I was paying:

Berry ‐ Didn't see much after 1/4 time. The composure I saw in the preseason unfortunately hasn't carried to the real stuff, missing gettable set shots (have we Hinkleyfried him already???) Have to to persist with him though.

SPP - I haven't rated him highly as a forward over the years, but looked dangerous in the 1st half and accurate in front of the sticks (usually a weakness for which I am critical). Needs to strive for this and better each week.

Richards - 25 disposals but ordinary IMO. Some questionable decisions and disposal is often untidy, putting teammates under pressure.

Sweet - Thought he did well against a quality opponent in Nankervis, who often frustrates us. Shows athleticism and smart evasive skills for his size. Aside from his ruckwork, it's the extra things he does that I love: the work at ground level after the ruck contest, handy disposal, the tackling (and isn't easy to tackle himself). A real asset.

Two hours after the game and the review thread is two and a half pages long lol. Back in the day we'd have had that within ten minutes of the end of the game. The most checked out fan base in the AFL by far.
To be fair in order to review a game you would have to actually sit through it and I doubt many people on here did.

I honestly reckon we had more engagement on the back half of our AFLW games last season. Because even half the posts in here are just sarcastic jokes.

Weird sort of game, so much handball and run , was fun to watch at times, but was overdone a fair bit. Concerned with our fitness but we had a few down, so were spent by 3qtr time. Need to play a extra tall up forward who can chop out in ruck. Lost a bit when wines was in there. Just got to hang in there till we can get a few back. Possibly Rat and Vis in this week.

It’s likely because people know better now.
Rather than shooting their load online after win after 12 years of false hopes :)
