Results from Part Two:

1| Steven May (96.9%)
2| Judd McVee (93.8%)
3| Jake Lever (81.3%)
4| Trent Rivers (75.0%)
5| Harrison Petty (71.9%)
6| Andy Moniz-Wakefield (34.4%)
---------------------------------
7| Tom McDonald (31.3%)
8| Christian Salem (25.0%)
9| Jake Bowey (21.9%)
10| Xavier Lindsay (18.8%)
11| Blake Howes (18.8%)

Taj Woewodin, Jed Adams, Marty Hore, Ricky Mentha (<10%).

It's unfortunate that Moniz-Wakefield debuted so late into the season as I can't seem to remember anything that he's done on the field. The other inclusion into the Best 22 Defense is Harrison Petty which means we have at least 2 changes to make in this thread.

Part 3 is looking at the forward six:
HF: Half Forward Flank | Centre Half Forward | Half Forward Flank
FF: Forward Pocket | Full Forward | Forward Pocket

Please vote for the six players you'd want to fill those positions. Voting ends Feb 21st.

Framework: We are pretending that everyone on the list is fit, uninjured and unsuspended, the only thing holding players back being age and inexperience. This isn't a Round 1 team either, just the Best 22 team against a random opponent in random weather conditions in a random round.

In the poll above are every player I've seen listed as a forward in either DreamTeam, SuperCoach and/or the Best 22 thread... Happy Voting! :smallfooty:

Hmm, I can only find 4 (maybe 5) players I actually want to select in order to make a balanced forward line.

This is bad.
Petracca forward makes a lot of sense.

Turner is nothing more than average at best. Still think he's a better back much like Petty.

No idea why you wouldn't give Jefferson a go early even if you're not convinced just to see how he goes, if he's going to spend the majority of the year in the reserves behind Turner you might as well have cut him at the end of last year.

Since Trac isn't available to be selected as a forward i hope Jefferson becomes best 22.

HF: Langford, Jefferson, Chandler
F: Fritsch, Van Rooyen, Pickett
I had the same, but with Tholstrup HFF over Langford, who I imagine will be on my bench.

Agree Turner much better suited to backline. IMO we should have traded Lever, someone would have been dumb enough to stump up something decent.

If we aren't playing Jeffo in the first 6 weeks not sure he will ever play tbh.

lol. Our forwardline is absolute garbage. I can't even pick a half decent 4 let alone 6.

Koz, Fritta, JVR. That's it. I'd put Trac in there but he's not an option.

It really is poor. If goody had half a brain he'd find a way to isolate Frisch, Koz and Trac and clear out everyone else.

Chandler's a solid enough player who'd look much better if we actually kept the ball moving and he had space to operate, but yeah, aside from those four, not working with too much (although I don’t mind Turner).

I'm guessing van Rooyen will still be doing some minutes in the ruck, which sucks because it stuffs up his game and having our best tall forward needing to ruck at all is a real problem. would much rather Turner do that but not sure he has been tried

We really have three clear categories of forwards.

Locks: JVR, Pickett, Fritsch

OK / average: Chandler

The rest.

You could maybe make an argument that Turner is in the OK / average category, but I don't think his ceiling is much higher than where he is currently. I'll happily give him a bench spot based on his versatility though.

It really is important for our team balance and scoring power that Trac is spending 60% or more of his time forward.

I can't rate "Mr. GetAnotherEasyGoalOutTheBack" Fritsch. His work ethic is terrible.

Both Fritsch and Chandler seem unable to see Melbourne colours whenever the goal posts are within sight.

Fritsch is the one player on our list who can kick goals reliably, he can be as selfish as he likes as far as I'm concerned

Fritsch has career accuracy of 63% which is elite when you consider the volume of shots he takes. I want him to be hungry FFS

My picks.

Locks: JVR, Pickett, Stengle, Hogan, J. Cameron

The rest don't matter.
