Jeepers. I know Goad is a project player but the Panama Canal Project took less time to build!

I hope all goes well for him and the club. He could be anything. You could argue he already is.
You don't remember Goldy or McIntosh or Capuano? They took ages.
I think Goad might get a debut towards the end of 2025 if his VFL form warrants it.

McIntosh took a while but the other 2 were playing meaningful senior games by year 3.
Yep. Sorry I meant he gets a game end of 2025 at AFL as a taste against a young team, provided his VFL form warrants it.
2026 onwards he might be strong enough to compete at AFL level consistently as Xerri chop out.

R U Sirius?

That will be his fourth year.

Excellent speed for a young tall to be cemented in round one. Same as Nick Larkey or Ben McKay (who lasted three games), faster than Xerri, three years faster than Max Gawn. None of those guys were project players except maybe X.

2007, really. This sort of thing is the same as when a company advertises their shit at $x.95
He was drafted in 2006, really, and played his first round one game in his fourth season - 2010.

Goad was drafted in 2023 and we're talking about him playing his first round one game in 2027. Which would be his fourth season.

And we're not talking about his first game but his first game in round one. Which means he's best 22/3 from the start of the season, not earning a game halfway thru the year.

He did debut against Port at AAMI, but it was round 15 2008.
Played 3 in 08 and 13 in 09. Kicked 5 against the GoDees late in 09.
2010 was when he really locked in a best 22 spot.
Okay so to clear this up

Not his first game ever played but the first season he was selected in round 1.

I know he hasn't achieved anything yet, let his rapid development be a reminded to not overreact to a youngsters form in the VFL. Some of the carry on with regards to his form last year was ridiculous for an 18 year old ruck prospect.
If you can't gnash your teeth about 18 year old giants' performances against Box Hill, is it even worth following football?
