No chance we finish last again unless we have another spectacular run of injuries.
We hardly held onto the spoon this year.
Everyone is optimistic, and it’s great to have so many young players coming through, but I have very little faith in McGovern playing 20 games for the year (I hope I’m wrong), injuries to key defenders will leave us exposed down back, there are many big powerful forwards in the AFL, that our young defenders would struggle to compete against.
Norf have just picked up a shit load of players and as our closest rival should be moving up the ladder, Alistair Clarkson goes alright too!

So the HUN has published an early list of the top 29 prospects

Quick breakdown
4 = Father Son
3 = Northern Academy
2= NGA (Dons and Eagles)
leaving 20 out of 29 available in the open draft

The good news is that most of the first 8 prospects as they stand are available in the open draft and there some very mids in that list.

Depends what Laura and Dill want to do - simplify the draft and make it less compromised or make it more even where we all get to take our academy/NGA but with suitable currency

Can't wait for the donkeys over east to be harping on about us splitting our R1 pick to go for local talent.

I really hope that list isnt supposed to be in expected draft order?

Just finished another video today for Finn O'Sullivan who is in my mind a clear (very early) favourite for pick 1:

Edit: just noticed that its in alphabetical order. I'm a bit slow!

whilst Rutten and Talia hung around the likes of Bick, Davis, Lever and Doedee have all left

Christmas comes early for the West Coast Board memelords and you're all just sleeping on it?!?!
Not one single 'big swinging bick' or even a simple 'ginston and bick'?!

This once-mighty board's fall...

Agree with Finn being probably number one on this year’s performances but not as clear cut as Reid was last year. His numbers aren’t quite as high as some of the others midfield talents but his ball use I feel is better than most of the higher ranked players and O’Sullivan’s marking is also something that’s sets him apart from them. Smith and Draper would be hot on his heels based on this year performances.

Going to be some interesting midfield battles in the Coates league early in the season. Vic Metro should have a very good midfield.

Yeah I'm with you. We've become used to our top end midfield prospects being jack of all trade types that are prolific both inside and outside the contest. Finn definitely leans outside. He's not incapable of winning the hard ball, but its not his 1 wood. His elite attributes are his athleticism and how damaging he is with ball in hand (kicking skills + vision and creativity).

He's not exactly the same type of player, but he reminds me a little of when Lachie Whitfield was coming through.

Of players available to all, I've got Smillie, Smith and O'Sullivan as the three standouts. Gross and Draper nipping at their heels

If I had the choice, it’s close but I go Jaggs then O’Sullivan. Honestly though, I’d be very happy with either

Harvey Langford I liked last season he gives me Isaac Smith vibes would be a good outside option.

Keep and eye on Retschvo too next year. I like the decisions he makes with the ball, is happy to take the long option, tougher kick to open the game up and does it pretty well.

Some of the ball pigs in the draft class tend to go short and safe ( Moraes, Gross or Ashcroft as examples) or aren’t as good with there execution but do accumulate the ball with big numbers.
Even if we don’t have access to Smith or Finn at the top of the draft I think there will be some good midfield options in the top 10.

Guys thoughts on Livingstone he looks good hopefully he makes it

He’s very raw but a good size

We’ll need to be patient with him

Cat B so we can afford to sit him in the WAFL for a couple of years. Could be a real wrecking ball if developed right and he puts the work in

If it doesn’t work out he came cheap so no harm done
