Very positive story on Sunshine today in Leader news with Boyd and Padak in from Spotty, a Queensland Rep. player and two others staying who had originally declared they were leaving. That should be enough for them to be flag favourites.

They had 4 good players last year, and all 4 have gone.
They might have some handy inclusion, but Boyd and Patak are old enough to be playing superrules.

Seems like the guy wants to try his hand at a higher level, good on him I say. A lot of guys out there take the easy money and easy kicks. Hopefully the club does the right thing and lets him go.

Unless new sides come into the comp, it will be one up, one down pending teams wanting to go up/down.

The league will want to keep three divisions for as long as possible.

Tail continues to wag the dog, why would any new clubs want to join?

10, 8, whatever is left should be the divisions.

Nope although Parkside and PCC were the clear top two last season, PCC were that far in front of everybody else and would’ve been unfair on Parkside to go up.

It needs to be nuanced. The gap is huge so unless the club going up has both depth of players coming through as well as funding to bring in quality there is a real risk to clubs folding there senior team.

Few of the Div 2 clubs left could compete at Div 1 level however a few are building towards it

And what would you suggest teams like Heights, Tarneit and Albanvale do? They aren't terrible but cannot compete with Parkside, Sunshine, Newport etc.
