It is only fitting that the newest Carlton team has its own forum.

This is a board to discuss Women's Football, in particular Carlton's own Women's team as one of the inaugural members of the new national Women's Football League.

We will be relying on our members to keep this forum updated and thriving and we will have player threads just as we do for the men's team.

Pretty sure this whole sub-forum was created to stop me from having a stickied thread and so ODN could reclaim his clean sheet ;)

But seriously, women's footy deserves it's own dedicated forum.

I'm very excited about the whole concept and feel we are witnessing a pivotal moment for the sport - not just at the afl level but all the way down to grassroots.

Hopefully this is an important step in getting more girls and women playing this wonderful footy code that we all love so much.

Really looking forward to seeing this. Quite liked seeing a couple of the players being quite adamant about who they want to play for - already shows club loyalty (even if it's just about staying with their employer just now). Our players seem great, I'm looking forward to seeing how they play.

They are the gamechangers!

And as we start to build the inaugural Carlton women’s team list, we need you to help build the facilities ahead of their history-making opening season.

Darcy Vescio, Brianna Davey and Lauren Arnell all headline the first female players who will proudly line up in the Navy Blue from 2017 and beyond.

Now, back the Blues' gamechangers and play your part in contributing to the refurbishment of the Club’s new change room facilities at Ikon Park.

Supporters can get involved in two unique ways:

  • A $25 donation to show your support will ensure you have your name printed on the change room facilities.
  • A $200 donation to show your support will ensure your special message of support for the team (160 characters) is printed on the change room facilities as well as a commemorative, locally made woolen scarf.
Simply click here and make your donation today!

I will be onto it 1st thing Monday morning!

Carlton recruits Lauren Arnell and Darcy Vescio are determined to cap off their stellar seasons in style in Sunday’s VFL Women’s Grand Final.

Arnell and Vescio, who recently joined the Blues’ inaugural women’s team as a priority selection and marquee player respectively, will represent the Darebin Falcons when they take on Melbourne University at Piranha Park.
Should the duo prevail on Sunday, it will mark the 12th first-division title between them in Darebin colours, ending a week where they were named in the VFL Women’s Team of the Year alongside new Carlton teammate Bri Davey (St Kilda Sharks).

It’s going to be very easy for Bluebaggers to support Carlton’s women’s team next year.

With the competition kicking off in February, the Club can confirm all standalone games will be free to attend – so everyone can watch our girls in action!
Although games will be free to access, we encourage all Carlton supporters to be part of history and back the Blues’ game changers, by signing up as a foundation supporter.

Happy bunch of players, coaches and watchers for the first open training session.

#gamechangers

ODN think you're on the money for Lauren to captain. Doing lots of the encouraging in between drills and had the middle spot for the photo.

The show, to be called ‘Women’s Footy’, will be hosted by respected sports broadcaster Tiffany Cherry and will air every Sunday beginning in February.

Cherry will be joined by a rotating panel of AFLW stars including Collingwood’s gun Moana Hope, Western Bulldogs forward Katie Brennan and Melbourne defender Melissa Hickey.

Its looked half baked from the start. short season "to fill content gap", final held in the middle of round 1, games being played at Collingwoods training facility which has no seating. Why would you bother promoting the game for its rivlary if theres no room for people to actually go? Game should have been at Ikon.
