Eddie came up with a better idea. Two non WA clubs fly over, play one WA team one week and 6 days later play the other side.

Then the WA sides each seperately play two games away with a 6 day break and stay interstate for six days.

That would reduce interstate travel for all involved, including non WA clubs. Eddie was pumping up AFL tourism as fans could visit Perth or Melbourne for 6 days and watch two games. Very smart concept.
More accurately, Eddie did not come up with that idea. The subject of ‘interstate’ travel has been appearing here fairly often over the years, with that idea raised as one possible solution.
Travel is an issue only for WA fans. It’s all but invisible to the vAFL media - so it’s a pleasant rarity to hear that from Eddie (whose club probably has more advantage than any).

Doing that squiggle ladder predictor and it's funny we could win 6 games and finish 16th and win 5 and finish 15th obviously depends other results.

Seems like the AFL are treating this weekend as a bit of a "rivalry round". Every Non-Victorian team is playing their in state rivals, expect for us in WA.

Just an observation...

The fixturing this year has been a dog’s breakfast due in part to opening round

Sides with an extra bye, discrepancies in preparation time between competing clubs, clubs having games crammed together unnecessarily, lack of regard to impacts of travel etc

Very little makes sense

Just an example we played Gold Coast away on Sunday and will now play Essendon on Saturday night. Essendon last played on Thursday at the MCG making it a team with a 9 day break playing one on a 6 day break which included flying back from Gold Coast to Perth

It’s absurd

I mean we are playing the team I most like to see us beat.

From what I can see there a 3 x 4 game blocks where we are a shot of winning...

Rounds 5-8

Rounds 12-16

Rounds 19-22

I'm really hoping we can snag min. 1 win in each block and obv the more the better

The other games I assume we'll be taken care of quite comfortably.

Hopefully our best players are primed for these blocks

Well that's the first block of winnable games completed.

2-2 was a great result

Unrealistic to think well trouble anyone until til the rd 12 game v StK

An out of the blue win would be great though but these injuries have probably put any win on the back burner until close to the bye

Which North have you been watching?

We have 3 should probably win games v Hawthorn, North & St.Kilda at home. I don't see us winning any others. G.C at home, the second derby even North in Tas will be beyond us I think.

We should be favourites but in Tassie with Reid(and others) potentially resting makes it more of a coin flip. If they are still on zero wins by then they might actually put some effort in too. I've had us finish 6 and 17 two weeks in a row when doing my ladder predictor.

Was looking forward to seeing how Harley went in his first game at the G this weekend but the Pies game is at Marvel. We don't play at the G until we face the Demons in R17, for what will be our only match there this season

North will pinch one somewhere. These historically s**t teams generally turn up one day against a mid table team on an off day. North vs Richmond 2022, us vs Collingwood 2022, us vs Bulldogs 2023 etc

North v Gold Coast 2023……

we won't beat NM in Tassie. Forget about it

I’ll take that bet.

Anything can happen with injuries by then but you’d assume Allen and Flynn will be back and if we have a half functioning midfield we will wipe the floor with them.

Their backline is the worst in the competition by a considerable margin, especially their talls.

They’ve conceded over 100 points in all 8 games they’ve played so far.

Marks inside 50 for -78
Marks inside 50 against - 153

Allen, Waterman, Darling, Maric, Jack Williams, Bailey Williams and Flynn will destroy them.
