interesting that O'Brien's been named at CHF. He was known for his marking and endurance, but there was talk of him as maybe a midfielder. But obviously Davis took the position O'Brien might have had in the midfield.

Looks a pretty strong team

Certain that O'Brien was on the EFC Injury list as missing one or two weeks.

Good news if he is fit.

Distinct lack of Dalgleish & Lee - Im assuming they are injured? Winders rested or still carrying an injury?

No Long or Dalgleish when neither are listed as injured is a disappointing thing.

I suppose Merrett is a similar types that can play at half back.

The seniors just seem to be an injury or two away from being a little pedestrian (losses of Winderlich and Dempsey killed us last year). We could do with as many fast, skillful flank/wing types as we can muster.

I know that he played well.

So why are you surprised that he is/was fit?

Injured 2 weeks ago, played 1 week ago... would make sense that he'd play this week.

Gold is officially the worst nickname of any footy club i've ever heard....just terrible. - and that grey jumper is just so vanilla....i hope no one's getting paid for that marketing train wreck!

The only challenger I can think of is Fevola's Yarrawonga Pidgeons (but at least they're just a local club)!

Can anyone tell me, is that line up typical of what we can expect our forward line to look like??

Not a lot of height - may be worth giving Carlisle a run if need be/able to spare him from defence.

Think i'll pop down, and I'm hoping to see Dell'Ollio show a bit.

Any one know how Frankston are looking this year?? Still poo??

From what I read, they took it right up to Port Melbourne for 3 quarters then got blown away. Kinda sounds like what happened last night Richmond vs Carlton.

Not sure what the hell is going on with this Bendigo Gold crap, but I think Frankston could probably win this.

The grey jumper was the 'clash' jumper from last year.

The team's new jumper (to be worn on Sunday) is Blue and Yellow strips with a Yellow BFC (similar to Carlton's CFC) on the front.

Yes.

In 2013 Essendon will be fielding a side in the VFL and Bendigo will be a stand-alone side.

This season is officially the last of the alignment.

I really don't care about their new name. And really, it always annoyed me that Bendigo took 'bombers', we don't own them. We have (had) a partnership with them, we didn't buy them out. Call themselves whatever they want

Now remember (and NO this is not an April Fool's Day Joke), in preparation for Bendigo going stand-alone next year, they have renamed themselves Bendigo Gold.

So not to be confused, the team in Black and Red (with a white centre) is the Frankston Dolphins. Bendigo (formerly the Bendigo Bombers) have gone back to their 'Diggers' colours of Blue and Yellow, as shown below...
