******* peanuts with whistles. How about the afl drug runners and sports betters administration get another half a dozen umpires on the field. Surely they could go to special needs school and do some recruiting. They’d have a far better idea than the current 7mpiring fraternity.

While most of them are jelling their hair and giving it a flick back, pulling their shorts up with their ladies panty corsets in them, prancing around putting lip gloss on, with their 3 day growth put on with eye liner pencil and looking at themselves on the big screen pouting and sticking their arses out.
Then having to actually listen to these prancing pouting poonces boys make out they didn’t see an infringement on any Richmond player, but can spot an infringement on an opposition player from 130 metres away, looking through the tangled legs of 30 players just does my ******* head in.

Take the microphones of them. Give an honest appraisal of their performance. Tell them to stfu and just umpire

One thing is for sure Steven May milked every free kick. Not a word will be said about this but the umpires were primed to pay all of them while Baker get's his head ripped off. FFS this game is unwatchable/unbearable and so heavily sensored that nobody is allowed to talk about it. Welcome to the new world we are about to get thrusted upon us.

All I'll say is , typical AFL.
The men in white, lime, grey, blue or whatever they were wearing this week (and last) f**** up with the Draper decision, which is holding the ball every time.
The AFL - as they do - buried their f*** up by awarding nothing as holding the ball or holding the man tonight.
Yes, there were certain instances tonight when we were disadvantaged - the Baker one was a joke, but the Dees copped their fair share of non-calls and bad calls.
Holding the ball has become a joke where you inadvertently knock the ball out of someone's hands gets you a free kick.
That umpiring tonight had no spirt of what has been umpired in recent years.

People say we’re crazy and think we complain about the umpires because we think it’s why we lose.

They just don’t heckin get it. We just want a fair go, just once.

How can we lose the count by 10+ every single week? Since and including 2017? How is that actually possible? Surely it should be variable and random?

Why can Baker get punched in the head and it be play on, but May can get quite literally touched on the bicep, throw his head back, and get a free?

Why can Essendon play on the “edge” (seriously get ****ed what a joke) and he top of the free kicks?

The result blew out in the end but we were in that game. So many times Melbourne got bailed out.

I’m so bloody sick of it. Every. *******. Week.

It has gotten beyond a joke. Tonight’s game was killed off by a run of soft free kicks and no calls .. not saying we’d have won, but the umpires just took the oxygen out of that game.

The trouble is there’s so much grey the umpires won’t be given poor marks for that game … as for any 40/60, 50/50, 60/40 call, it doesn’t matter which way they call it - free kick, no free kick, play on, they won’t be judged to have made an error.

But as well all know … Richmond just gets way way less of the 50/50 calls. Every … single … week.

From 2017-2024 we’ve had different coaches, different game style, different players, we’ve been good, bad and middle of the road … there’s absolutely no way we could be bottom of the free kick ladder 8-years in a row in an 18-team competition if there isn’t subconscious bias at play. It’s a statistical and logical impossibility to be last….

And it’s not like we are 15th, 17th, 18th, 14th, 16th etc… we are last, last, last, last ……..

Sick of it. Club needs to make a stand as it’s crueling the entire club.

Season averages:

  • Frees for this week’s opponent in last week’s game: 15.6
  • Frees for them when playing Richmond: 21.2 (+5.6)
  • Frees against this week’s opponent in last week’s game: 18.8
  • Frees against them when playing Richmond: 14.8 (-4)

So, the excuse that “it’s the way we play” only explains about half of it.

It’s clearly also “the way they play” because - like magic - they give way four less free kicks when they play us.

What a hecking joke , are they still looking for bakers head out there , did melb actually concede a free in their D50 ,,,only coz the umpires weren’t looking . Every slight contact from our defenders was paid , poor youngy gets pinned a lot , does May never do that , I was watching him close , kelti could rarely attack the ball coz that campaigner was shepherding him out , man handling

Even some of the non calls that don’t show on a stats sheet were ridiculous. A few of the holding the balls that weren’t paid and obvious incorrect disposal were laughable. I get it that not every free is seen or paid but last night was plain old incompetence.

Reckon last night's umpiring fiasco will tip Baker to the West...

This is a serious question for any legal experts out there. Can an individual bring some sort of injunction or legal action against the AFL or someone else to stop this. A mathematics expert could be called to confirm that our free kicks stats since 2017 are basically impossible. Court injunction to stop the season until investigation? Australian Sports Integrity commission (if something like that exists)? OH&S claim from Richmond players for bullying? Someone give me something we can pursue? There must be SOMETHING us our the club can do!
