Premierships aren't won in May. The Most Successful Club of the 21st Century pacing itself beautifully.

Yes Hawthorn are the most successful club with the most premierships. Currently down on form, Gerwrong and Meldrugbourne have the same chance as North Melbourne does in winning the 2024 premiership.

Melbourne had a goalless quarter and still won.

This season is too long, both sides are high tier but they're forced into playing aging and/or unfit blokes. Many such cases.

It's not about making it easier for Geelong, it's about making it less boring for the fans.
What fans? Its Geelong vs Melboutne, did they crack 50K? ;)

Media before the game against Melbourne: “Geelong haven’t beaten anyone”

Media after the game against Melbourne: “Demons the real deal after taking down Cats” (This morning’s headline in The Age)

So, in other words: Geelong are rubbish but Melbourne are contenders because they beat rubbish.

Fork the media.

As did Geelong? It was the same quarter lol

0.9 between them
Yes both sides played poorly.

Melbourne had more spark (and some umpire help, the strip from Pickett should have been 50 to Geelong, not play on), Geelong were made to play badly and failed to adjust.

Neither side should be judged on this game (like Pies Carlton, a better standard but hardly season defining), both are probable final 4 sides.

Both are good sides experiencing a form dip, doesnt mean too much ( although it has knocked the unreleased methane out of some loudmouth Kitties on the Bay, so it wasn't all bad).

I think Geelong played worse than Melbourne did, that was the most un-Geelong like game of footy all year.
Disposal efficiency was garbage (not much pride in possession) and accuracy went into the toilet (that is excusable, it happens)

Credit to Dees defence, they held firm and made Cats forwards have to work for their shots.
Cats just never got out of 1st gear and it was that way until about 10 minutes to go.

I’d imagine this is a good sign for Melbourne that their style of play that is dour and restricting will hold up well come Finals time.
For the Cats, I think they can take the pressure off now, they know they can be beaten if they lower their colours.
I expect Port might be in a bit of trouble next Round.
No Rozee, couple other blokes out and Cats coming off a poor loss where they are finally back at Kardinia for the first time in over a month.
