Soon he'll start agitating for apartheid to come back.
Lots of people think post-apartheid South Africa is a model to follow. Victoria for example is having its own truth and reconciliation commission.

Just because something is the opposite of something bad doesn’t make it good!

Very on brand not to comment on the comment but instead try to raise something else completely.
Are you referring to the fact no one wants to address the parlous state of South Africa today and it’s ongoing collapse and instead refer to something that ended 30 years ago?

I will address it.
Apartheid is a million times worse than whatever the state of South Africa today.

Keeping the lights on is pretty important for modern society. Why does undoing apartheid mean no longer being able to make electricity?

Making electricity for 10 million people v making electricity for 60 million people...which one do you think is more complicated?

That makes no sense.

You blamed the end of apartheid for the death spiral of South Africa.
Like apartheid was somehow better than the 'parlous state' it now finds itself.

Oppressing 50 million people and pillaging every last cent from the vast mining of precious metals in South Africa for 100 years is the reason that South Africa is in a parlous state. It is not in a parlous state because apartheid ended.

Rhodes and his cronies opposed the sharing of the wealth of South Africa with all South Africans from day dot.
Rhodes threatened to scuttle South Africas federation if his demands weren't met.

If you want to blame something for the parlous state of South Africa blame Rhodes and his cronies.

Cecil Rhodes died over 100 years ago. South Africa had some good times since then, inventing the heart transplant, CT scan, hosting rugby and soccer world cups, having reliably electricity. They even had a nuclear program. Looks a long way from doing that now.

Rhodes was the architect of apartheid.
All so that him and his cronies could steal the wealth of South Africa for themselves.

South Africa has had 5 of the 10 largest diamond mines on the planet.
Where did all the money from the diamonds go?
Into the pockets of Rhodes, DeBeers and the rest of their cronies.
Same thing happened with the gold.

South Africa has had more than enough money to have the best electricity system in the world.
Blaming the end of apartheid for it not having a functioning electricity system today completely ignores history.

You don't need diamonds or gold to keep the lights on.
