Ventured up the mountain today to see the top 2 go at it, and what a great advertisement for local footy. Monbulk started well with their run and spread and looked in complete control. However, this Olinda side play a very appealing style of footy. 12 goals to 5 after quarter time tells a fair story. Scores were level at three quarter time and Olinda completely blew Monbulk off the park in the last quarter. A Monbulk defender went down with cramp in the third quarter, which just goes to show how hard the Olinda boys run. The Olinda coach also gave gave a great talk to his charges at three quarter time; ripping stuff.

The ground was in great nick, looks like new lights have been installed and the new pavilion looks as though it will be fantastic. TS, your mob could well be on the way to having some of the best facilities in the league.

Great game yesterday and definitely a great advertisement for local footy. New lights are just incredible, hoping we can stage some night footy next year or at least some twilight games at a minimum. The pavilion is coming along beautifully, some terrific weather has helped with that. We've gone from probably about the worst facilities in the state to some of the best (when complete). Don't think we'll get our wish of 1-2 games in it this season, but it'll be easily open for operation for cricket season and of course next football season will be amazing for us all up here. Fantastic function room, fantastic change rooms (football & netball) and our gym which will be a huge bonus. Seven years in the making by the group behind it, all volunteers with no ego's, just wanting the same thing and being on the same page, a whole new era about to begin for the Mighty Bloods. Wouldn't mind seeing some Division 1 success in the near future just quietly, not asking for much !!!

Agree with TS. Pretty exciting stuff to see the bloods up and about. The boys are walking around with fake tans at the moment, clearly attribute that to the new lights, they are that good. Grass is growing thanks to the photosynthesis of having light on the ground.
Boys are going great, it is exciting, I drove up after other commitments to watch the last 4 minutes of the game but spent the whole afternoon spewing I couldn't watch the whole match. Rooms look awesome, it is with out a doubt the greatest thing to happen to our footy club since TS played his first game.
The people involved should be knighted.

Nick Keegan must have settled in alright. He was a joy to watch as a junior.

Yeah Nicks well and truly settled, he's had an up and down couple of years with injury, he had a shoulder reco around Rd 4-5 last year and had played really well in the 1sts to that point. He's done the whole summer this year which helps, kicked a few goals in Interleague a couple of weeks back, is currently on the Northern Bullants VFL list so hopefully he gets a crack at some stage this year, he works pretty hard and is just starting to get some reward for effort.
