Very comprehensive win by Mayne, definitely think there is a gap between them and anyone below them and probably just behind Springwood and Coops at the moment.

Definitely a game that Coorparoo would’ve had circled the moment they saw the fixture come out. They look like they had a great intensity all day and the pumas just weren’t quite there for the day. Still think both teams though are ahead of the pack though and they’ll play each other plenty of times this year.

Jeez that’s a massive score put up by hinterland. Saw that Magin kicked 10 he is going to be an absolute handful for defenders in this comp. Bit worrisome for Beenleigh if they’re getting beaten by 150 points, not sure what it says about Caloundra then even if there is no score up at the moment and they got beaten by 5 goals to Beenleigh.
Caloundra knocked off MB by a few goals. Think this comp in the main will be determined by availability of players week to week. The best players in each side make an enormous difference to the outcome so if they r missing then chance of defeat is there.
I said last week Magin looked a class above kicking 5 vs Mayne. Wouldn’t surprise if he had no more than 12 kicks to kick 10 goals. He’s a beautiful looking kick and despite being 35 yrs young hasn’t lost his footy brain that had him drafted to Essendon many years ago.

Some very interesting results!

Springwood pumped Beenleigh - I think Beenleigh are in trouble.

UQ with a great win over Caloundra, although the game was at Yeronga for some reason.

Hinterland coming out on top in a very high scoring game against Moreton Bay. Hinterland scores very highly at home.

And Mayne with the big upset over Coorparoo. Looks like Mayne led all day.

Think Beenleigh ended the game without a bench, appear to have been decimated by injuries, retirements. Haven’t heard great things coming out of their camp. Sounds like they could be in for a very long year.

UQ could very well finally play finals this year with a few teams looking to have fallen off a bit from last year. Think UQ may have had a fire Ants issue at some point and may be why they were at Yeronga.

Hinterland are going to be very strong at home against anyone.

Mayne with a big win over Coops, looks like it is certainly the top 3 and then a gap between the rest

Correct about Beenleigh, decimated at the moment with loss of players through injuries, retirements and unavailabilities. Lost another 4 yesterday and yes had no bench for the last quarter. Difficult getting 44 players at the moment but we will cop it and work our way through it. The playing group are still pretty upbeat so we will continue to keep battling on until things turn around.

Think the ladder will take shape this week. Hard to see the comp being as even as it was last year.

Definite top 3, this week will tell us a bit about the 3-4 teams below

Should be a good game between Springwood and Mayne this weekend. Always a good clash between the two clubs. Agreed on the fact there is definitely a top 3 and that’s about that. Think hinterland may do some damage when they’re playing at home. Did give Mayne a run for a while in round 1, think on the road will be trouble. Caloundra are nowhere near there performance from last year about making a prelim. Moreton look to have fallen off a bit too without Giles & Nickalls. Beenleigh look decimated with injuries so that’ll be hard for them to do much this year. UQ could be a Smokey this year, think they definitely play finals this year finally for them.

Hearing Hinterland have landed a very handy inclusion, will be playing this weekend.

Watched the Springwoond Mayne match yestereday. Where Springwood jumped Mayne early to take a handy lead into the first break.
Interesting to see Springwood start with Page in the fullback position against Quinn.
Mayne slowly worked their way into the game over the next 2 Qtrs through their midfield taking the upper hand with first use of the ball. Page was moved on ball towards the end of the third. Which had an immediate impact.
The forth Qtr was a typical slog feast with the Puma's getting the upper hand to take the win.

These two teams play each other again in months time at the same location. Look forward to see which team learnt form yesterdays game plans.

The third Qtr was went for almost 37 Mins for 7 goals. Not sure how a Qtr of community football can go for so long.

Always tends to be quite a close game between Springwood & Mayne no matter where the location is. Both Springwood & Mayne look to have some handy inclusions to come back into their side at some point over the year so that’ll be interesting if they are back by the time they play again. Lowe oval hasn’t been the happiest of hunting grounds for the tigers over the years. Yesterday certainly showed what we have started to know over the past couple weeks in that it is 3 teams and then the rest in this comp.

Will UQ fall into the 4 do u think? Or is it a race of 3 for that position ?
I think UQ would be the favourite for that position at the current stage, although they did have a couple heavy losses to start the year against Coorparoo and Mayne. Think this comp will be a top 5 from memory of last year. If I had to pick right now it would be UQ and Hinterland taking 4 & 5. Moreton have been a shell of themselves this year and don’t look very competitive without Giles & Nickalls, obviously haven’t won a game either. Beenleigh overrun with Injuries. Caloundra seem to be inconsistent at best at the moment and don’t have their top A graders from last year anymore. At least with Hinterland would imagine they’ll be hard to beat at Home, and UQ began to build a reputation that no one would want to play them cause they could very easily sneak a win against anyone.

👍 top 5 is ridiculous though in a 8 team comp
