Simon Beaumont 28 & 8 devastatingly close

Lucas is dismissed by most non Essendon people.
But he was a pivotal part of that 2000 era at EFC playing a roll of lead up half forward/wing who would take countless marks and drill it down to Lloydy and others with a lethal left foot while also banging through goals himself.

He missed a lot of set shots. It wasn’t until he was 25ish he really got the hang of league footy.

Harrison Jones is Scotty right now. So much potential with strong hands but just can’t quite get it consistently.

Lucas ended up a truely beloved and immortal Bomber to us but will be unfortunately forgotten by others as the decades go by…
Scott lucas was better then matty lloyd.

A freak

Saw with my own eyes…right ..in ..front of me.

From a pocket

Great player

Hence .. the Lou Richards tag ..” lethal”

A supernova beast of a player
Yep. I get Richmond fans wanting to talk up their modern day man, but no one still goes close to Lethal.

More than twice as many 25+ 3 goal+ games as Little Gaz.

Crazy.

He was just so determined to kill every opponent he was on.

You have to read his autobiography to understand how obsessed he was with being the best…right from a young age.

He was a smaller guy who wanted to
Prove he was good at footy.

Classic white line fever mentality.

And he drilled it into
His Lions players as coach.

Specifically the Scott brothers , Hart, McCrae and others

Play your role … hit them hard… don’t back
Out ever

Mathews was a beautiful example of a perfect Australian rules player who
Didn’t have the height and range others have.

And like Timmy Watson and many others …he hardly ever lost his feet.

Stay upright ..baulk and weave and deliver the kick

Toughness of mind

The great Matthew Richardson also nearly qualifies. His best was 10 goals but had 29 possessions twice, funnily enough both against Hawthorn but 10 years apart. He also had a 27 possie game against Hawthorn.
