I haven't given two hoots about the IPL since 2008 when it was on Channel 10 and Gilly was playing for the Deccan Chargers.

They moved it the following year to ONEHD which I didn't have then after that Australia had no rights whatsoever for probably 7 years of the tournament.

So interest in the comp waned from the beginning.

It's also on when everyone including a cricket tragic like myself is burnt out and pumped for the footy season starting in march and April.

Never been to India so have no affiliation with any city there yet to get behind them either.

Got a feeling the atmosphere at IPL games would be next level tbh.

If I was going to watch cricket in India I’d still much rather the Border-Gavaskar Trophy though.

Need some help to knock out the Hawks.

I did my bit.
If Hawthorn had gone back to back in this game, why did the other 18 clubs not gang up on them from the start?

That is what would have happened in real Survivor, Hawks have no social game. In fact they made a name for themselves being unsociable.

P.s. we were already gone by the time I looked.

Don't know where else to put this, but has anyone else been getting a pop-up video in the corner of the page, that starts with an ad (powered by Ad Choices) for Western Power (screen shot below), and then goes on to one of a dozen or more different video collages of red carpet appearances and other celebrity-related media?

It's really quite annoying for the following reasons:

1. it's super distracting
2. it causes my browser to bug out in very minor, but nevertheless annoying ways
3. the stuff after the Western power ad doesn't seem to advertise anything; I keep clicking on the video to take me to some website where I can buy something, but nothing happens.
4. it keeps playing the uninteresting red carpet sequences, and not the one I want to see again.

What makes it super wierd is just how many people are active abusers of Western Power staff or contractors? Wouldn't be surprised if the effect reach of this material is 0.

Anyone else watch the Bluey special and just be so proud that incredible show comes from Australia?

Brumm is a literal artist

Every kid should watch Bluey.

These guys were brave enough to put out a show for parents and kids and help knock this woke virus/cognitive dissonance out of society.

Its been a success because our broadcasters have underestimated people's ability think critically and everyone's general sense of political-correctness and self-censorship fatigue. Bluey will be remembered as the show that paved the way for many others like it.

Do you think the statistically, the rate of domestic violence goes up after a Collingwood loss?

Judging by the faces of the worried look on many of the female Collingwood supporters, I'm not sure that the loss is the most concerning factor.

Anyone seen the proposed new Fremantle Traffic bridge?
Greens Mayor Dr Bradley Petit actually rallied to keep the old ‘State Heritage’ bridge.
This is the exact reason why Fremantle FC cannot stay at Fremantle Oval. Such old precious council unwilling to get with the times

They wanted to build the new one but redevelop the old one as a pedestrian & bike only thing. It was actually quite a lovely plan that would have added considerable amenity. The old bridge can be a nightmare with cars, trucks , bikes, runners, walkers all using it.

This way the pelotons & runners on the weekends would have had a dedicated route over to the beach & back.

Apparently knocked back due to costs of maintenance for the wood pylons etc.

Would have been nice.

It would but it’s such a derelict. The wood pylons isn’t nice.

Is there plan to add perhaps a cycling/walkpath alongside ? Or perhaps under the road?

Just highlights how specific the Mayor is. Have to move with the Plans.

The plan for Fremantle Oval for example is pretty dull.

NBA PLayoffs have been interesting. No one seems consistently dominant or way above theo ther teams. Yet, if the Nuggets get past the timberwolves I don't think there is a team in the east who has a good match up for Joker.

Also, not only do they allow travels all the time, now changing pivot feet is a regular occurrence. Defending is difficult as it is, but if your opponent can change pivot feet at will it gets near on impossible.

Speaking of getting with the times, hasn't Pettitt not been mayor for 3 years or so now?

I will say as an Arsenal fan it has been very funny watching Tottenham fans celebrate losing to Man City like they've won the league all because it prevents us from winning the league.

I think Ange has gotten sick of it too, he straight up called his own fans out for being mentally fragile and pretty much implied if you're a Tottenham fan who wants to lose so Arsenal don't win the league you need counselling.

It's been funny watching their more hardcore fans show themselves having a small club mentality.

Interesting take. I reckon if there was ever a scenario where were playing a team that was 9th in the last round, and the Eagles were 8th, there'd be plenty of Freo fans that would rather we lose so as to deny the budgies a finals spot.
Maybe just a small club mentality, as you say

I don't know I don't live in London at the end of the day so I guess I don't have quite the grasp on how big the rivalry is, I know it's fierce, but because we live over here we don't really have to deal all that much with Premier League talk.

I'd definitely be conflicted, obviously West Coast missing out on finals like that would be funny, however my main mentality is always Fremantle first and we should always be looking to win.

I think there's also an element of if there's any reward/potential for reward the other way that might factor in to it. Tottenham's top 4/champions league hopes were still alive if they won which meant wanting them to lose was a hint of cutting off your nose to spit your face. In that hypothetical assuming our game was a dead rubber for us there'd be the 'incentive' of a better draft pick etc which makes it somewhat better in my book
