National Draft Pick #58 - Brady Grey

I must admit that I was disappointed we didn't pick Marsh up but having looked at his highlights and the draft camp results this guy could be another late pick gem. He is a very smooth mover, looks to have a good second effort and is not a bad kick. He finished second in the vertical leap and also both of the running leap off either leg so he should be able to take contested marks. Throw in he only recently concentrated on footy and has never done a pre season then there is a huge upside here.

With the "it's only a highlights clip" caveat attached, he seems to have excellent ball sense. Able to anticipate where the ball will be before other players around him can, both in terms of natural movement around the packs and reading the play as it unfolds up the ground. Dare I say it, a "short" Barlow.

And a fair bit quicker.

I thought Grey looked OK in the highlights video. Can't expect much from such a late pick, so maybe he will be another late gem. He is a touch short for my liking at 179cm, but at least seemed pretty quick and agile.

Would have preferred maybe Marsh or Thorpe, but every chance that Grey could turn out better.

179 is six foot. He's not exactly small;)

We should have picked Marsh, this kid should be a rookie at best! I don't see him getting a game for years, unfortunate choice.

Marsh would not have got a game next year either. How about we back in the recruiters that actually watch the games and not get worked up over bigfooty hype.

As opposed to Marsh getting a game?

If our young kids aren't getting a game for a few years I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing.

Already looks good in the Chevrons!

183? I believe 30cm = 1 foot, 180cm therefore = 6 feet. The old 30cm/1 ft ruler is what I'm going off. He's no monster but he's not small, Seppo!

Roughly but not 100% correct. 1 inch is 2.54cm's, which means 1 foot is 30.5roughly and this is why there is 183cm's in 6 foot.

To be 100% accurate, there is 182.88cm's in 6 foot.

He played very well in the TSL grand final (best for the losing side from memory) and it reminds me that Spurr did something similar when playing for Central's in a losing grand final and I thought Lloyd said something along the lines that he likes players that lift for big games after we drafted Spurr.
