The Southern Cross is rather bogan-ish, even when it's on a logo.

The text is a monogram and is supposed to be somewhat hard to decipher, which is why I included the full name.

I think a southern cross would better represent Aus and NZ though.

It might be, but it transfers to a smaller size, compared to the map which ends up looking like a blob.

Even as a monogram it doesn't seem to work. The letters in their current form are not able to be distinguished, I can see the letters N, M, I, F, A, and L all within it.

I really like the simplicity of this one, looks good in team colours as well.

Something like this. I toyed with having NAFL and the Southern Cross in red as well but it looked stupid - and using white isn't so bad considering Essendon use it for their numbers and whatnot.

EDIT: I'll change the logo on the heritage/clash to grey to see how it looks.

EDIT 2: Here it is. I think the black one looks better.
