Speculation Liam Baker

Froe are desperate for players with heart.

You pay them more to beat a rival's interest and to convince him its worth moving.

If a club was stacked with talent and had a tight salary cap you wouldnt pay that. There would be no interest.

However with the Eagles list is way out of balance and need some players in that age bracket. They have half the list under 21 and many on rookie wages. So they can afford to pay above market rates to attract talent with cssh. It doesnt automativally mean they need to pay top draft capital as they they overpaying good role players to move.
It sure does

Now go read the Callum Coleman Jones thread and see how that turned out for the north supporters that were posting exactly as you are . We supporters WANT our teams to get players with little trade but clubs know the trade value and pay that

Just like the Kelly deal where eagles payed up they will also pay the required pick to get baker if its the eagles and they have many ways to get that pick with future trading etc

The lowest one yeah, probably 13-17 range

Sometimes U just get the deal done and tigers wouldnt turn that down if he asked to go and is ooc
And they would probably accept that if thats the best pick you have with perhaps swap of other picks to get to roughly where they need it as is usually done.

You sure your not going to get threatening PM's from other WA supporters for talking sense ?

Eagles in a totally different list stage than the Kelly trade when they overpaid trying to snatch another flag. So that has no relevance.

Club has just endured three years of pain and are trying to rebuild with no assistance. They simply can't afford to be generous and there is no massive urgency to pay overs.

We are pretty happy with Archer Reid who we picked up with our 2nd pick last year.

Eagles paid two picks in the 40's for Brockman last year, only needed one. The Eagles don't shaft clubs at the trade table historically. But it's now under new management.

Chesser is good friends with Reid, so the eagles wont be trading him.

I’m sure they’re all good mates.

Chesser is Victorian. If he gets a decent offer to come home with a similarly good chance of game time he may take it.

Gotta give something to get something, he seems a likely target because WCE 2nd might not be as low as projected and they certainly won’t involve their first unless the Tigers add something to Baker.

Still think he gets to Freo. Their picks are better and the need for a player of his age and quality are much greater.

Don't know their list well enough, but they've had some pointy end selections in the last few years and I'd imagine there's a Victorian kid in their somewhere who might be enticed home.

Could be something like that kid + a second rounder depending on if we rate them.

Without a doubt pick 12 gets it done very easily…for Richmond, but I’m telling you know that’s not what’s been offered.
In all honesty how many players around the age of Baker get top ten pick compensation bar absolute stars or key position players who are in such short supply. Plus this years draft is now not considered to be as compromised as last years in terms of fatherson and academy players. Just 2 players requiring bids were in the top 12 picks in the last mock draft I read.

Jesus Christ, this bloke's a little champion. Schultz is a far inferior player and got what, a first round pick and a third? The frightened rabbit Cerra isn't fit to tie Baker's bootlaces and got what, pick 6 and a third?

West Coast could easily end up with pick 6. For a champion? Sold.

Fremantle will have to give one of their firsts and a bit more. Although one of their firsts might be pick 6 as well. That on it's own might be enough. Maybe.

I'd take Cerra back in a heartbeat over Baker, he isn't on the board though

Not a great comparison
