Since there are threads on almost every other club on here, thought it would be an idea to have a look at Lauderdale. Have watched a few of their games this year, well home games anyway.
Are they on the rise? Well they have have just signed Darren Winter for another 3 years, so that is a big coop for the club. They havent had any stability for years with their senior coaches. As the media keep pumping up, they have some great kids. Alex Hill, Sam O'Byrne, Ryan Wiggins, Shaun McKay etc, with a couple of experienced players like Marcus Fitze, Tim Perkins and Matthew Smith.
They've been a bit inconsistent this year, but give these youngsters a couple of years, they could be up there with Clarence and Launceston as a power club of the TSL.
Yes they signed Darren Winter as coach ..huge mistake ..the team now plays undisciplined dumb footy, numerous players reported during their first finals appearance this year, and before appearing in their first TSL Grand final their coach told them shackles were off with being disciplined, and warned a number of the opposing players that they would be getting some close attention during the game .

(“We’ll be a lot more physical,” Winter said at Thursday’s press conference.)

“We’ve focused on not getting reports and being undisciplined. That will be freed up in the grand final and there will be a lot more aggression … at the opposition when they have the ball.”)

Well his side followed the coaches orders to a T ..with numerous off the ball incidents in the opening minutes of the game, with one Lauderdale player reported twice within the first 20 minutes of the game.

This tactic worked an absolute treat..and Lauderdale went into the half time break just 10 goals down...after the break they renewed their attempts to attack the man and not the Ball and eventually ran out 90 point losers.

When the latest MRP report was published on Monday it contained a total of six reports against Lauderdale ranging from striking and late contact to instigating a melee.

Winter's comment after the game "“The umpiring was putrid today,”

Perhaps most concerning was the sanctioning of Winter for “behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an umpire in the first quarter” which was considered serious enough to be referred directly to the TSL tribunal.

So kudos to Lauderdale for making the Grand Final ..but as for their coach ..he coaches like he played the game an undisciplined thug.

You don't think he was trying to pump up the game a bit with those comments? I can assure you those tactics were never discussed to the players. Complete opposite in fact. Clearly you haven't seen the statement made by the captain Bryce Walsh.
