Congratulations to you for living such a life where lockdowns and mandates had no effect on your lifestyle in the last three years. Therefore, not being able to relate to the NZers whose lives have been affected adversely and will be for a long time to come.
As opposed to the other countries that had lockdowns and mandates and also had death and disease run rampant.

You goobers go on like victoria and nz are the only places in the world that did lockdowns.

Newsflash, other countries all around the world did as well, the difference was, they waited too long and so they got lockdowns AND deaths.

Nz economy dropped by 2.2 % in 2020, us economy dropped by 8.9%

If these people were babysitters, who would you trust to look after your kids?

a) Jacinda Adern
b) Greg Sheridan
c) Scott Morrison
d) George Pell
The kids could put a saddle on Jacinda and ride her round my family room so definitely Jacinda…
Jokes, is there anyone else? When presented that way I don’t think their are many politicians I’d want to leave my kids with.

Are you saying she’s not popular outside of NZ but also popular outside of NZ? That’s how I read it.

No.

Gough said she was 'mostly a marginal figure in Australian politics'. I said she was 'less than marginal internationally' - because she became a darling of the left.

NZ had one of the harshest and longest lockdown policies in the world justified by Covid-zero strategy. After more than two years of it people got fatigued and lost trust in the the government. NZ's restrictions continued well into 2022 whereas many countries such as the UK dropped theirs in mid 2021. The vaccines clearly didn't prevent infection or transmission which renders a Covid-zero policy ineffective. It's likely that Ardern dropped her Covid-zero policy due to falling poll numbers rather than a health decision.

Then there's her other policy failures.

Food prices in December 2022 were 11.3 per cent higher than a year earlier, with fruit and vegetable prices increasing 23 per cent year-on-year. The biggest annual food price increase in 32 years.

Both Treasury and the Reserve Bank are forecasting a recession this year.

Ardern did nothing to ease the housing crisis. She came into office with a promise to build 100,000 homes within a decade. The program became an embarrassing failure, delivering only 1,000 homes in its first five years.

Despite her appointing herself minister for child poverty reduction the result was an 18,000 additional children being pushed into poverty.

How can you be this far down the track with covid;

<<. The vaccines clearly didn't prevent infection or transmission>>

A vaccine is a blueprint for your body on how to kill a virus - not a preventative.

The NZ PM is mostly a marginal figure in Australian politics until Ardern came along and all the usual suspects in this country kicked up about having a sheila calling the shots which they definitely weren't having.
Looks like its back to the original status quo of the NZ PM being a marginal figure as the new PM has been named and not one post about it in this thread.

d) George Pell
e) none of the above with d) a close second.

I'd prop ole George up on the couch 'weekend at Bernies' style to scare the kids from leaving their rooms.

This thread is about Ardern, not the new PM.

Congratulations on living a life where restrictions and mandates did not affect you, and you don't have to give a **** about anyone outside your immediate presence.
Most people don’t give a **** about other outside their immediate presence. Most who claim to care are just being performative.
