Taranto Sweeps Awards (well almost)

1575947758975.png

Harbour City Midfielder Tim Taranto virtually swept all awards at the club best and fairest awards held in September.

Taranto takes away the U21 award, Coach's Award and the Best & Fairest - John Longmire Medal in a stellar first season with the club. Taranto elevated his game to another level playing as a midfielder. The 21-year-old played every game of the season, averaging almost 28 touches and more than six tackles a game and kicking 11 goals. He was ranked second in the competition for tackles and fourth for disposals and kicks in a stunning season.

Taranto was also named in the AFL TM All Australian Team

Hawkins takes out the Goalkicking Award

1575948387395.png

Harbour City KPF took out the Leading Goalkicker award for 2019 with 56 goals also in his first year with the club, with Sam Lloyd coming second with 38 majors.

Whilst Hawkins acknowledged his award he said he had hoped to contribute a bit more to the Harbour City team and was slight disappointed with his season and hope to contribute more as a team man than as a goal kicker in 2020.

Coach knobby welcomed everyone to the 2022 season launch, the first since covid hit Australia. knobby introduced all new players to the club and thanked those departing players for their years of service.

Whilst the Hornets made the finals last year, it really wasn't an acceptable result and much more was expected, however the additions of Tom Stewart, Jayden Short as well as hopefully fully fit Matt Crouch, Jack Gunston & Adam Treloar, hope is their again for a better season in 2022.

Coach knobby acknowledged premier West Coast & runner up Ballarat along with Geelong & St Kilda were most likely premiership favourites at this stage but promised the Hornets would certainly take it right up to them.

Harbour City hosted their 2023 season luanch at the SCG last night.

Harbour City Hornets entered the trade and draft period looking to strengthen their KPF & KPD stocks whilst also adding quality midfielders (aren’t we all).

Via trading Harbour City welcome in Will Day, Riley Garcia, Tom Lynch, Max Holmes, Ben Ainsworth, Connor West, Steven May, Jack Billings, Max Lynch, Oliver Henry & Jarrod Berry.

We also welcomed via free agency Brad Close & Matt Cottrell.

Incoming draftees Ed Allan, James Van Es, Cooper Harvey & Anthony Munkara have also been welcomed at the club.

Coach knobby thanked Hunter Clark, Max Ramsden, Jy Simpkin, Darcy Gardiner, Jack Graham, Jack Gunston, Billy Frampton, Chayce Jones, Jayden Laverde, Bailey Laurie & Luke Edwards for their service to the club and wished them well for the future.

After spending most of last season in the top 4 a straight sets exit was not expected and coach knobby vowed to take the team to better heights in 2023.
