Imagine being sent to play a game in a billion degrees, in a location that the big Melbourne clubs will never dream of having to play, and still never getting a home final when you earn it.

Smashed basically. And 25.8 kind of shows the lack of pressure many of their shots at goal had.

Hopefully it could be like that St.K game in 1993 where we got smashed by 77 pts that game, but won the last five.

But we really have zero firepower in the midfield, last three games, and against the Dogs we've been killed there. And we conceded a lot against Carlton too. Gotta focus on our midfield work and certainly in recruiting look to bolster that area. GWS at their de-facto home ground at KP, where we've not won against them there in years is not looking good either.

I reckon half of their goals were either from the goal square or from a bloke waltzing through centre half forward and slotting one from 35m straight in front under no pressure from a centre clearance.

Well over to you Scott. Don't much care about what happened after half time but again when the game was on the line we gave up multiple goals, and when we had chaces going inside 50 we butchered it.

Our ability to arrest their momentum and capitalise on ours has been terrible these last few weeks, which is inexcusable.

Iā€™d love Scotty to stop playing the umps always right card and let these maggots have it in the presser. Cop the fine, cop the bullshit ā€œplease explainšŸ¤£ā€ and just say what we are all feeling. Yes we were gonna lose this regardless cos our midfield is worse than a VFL side but that first qtr was pure corruption
Can't do that after the effort though.

A quarter time glare or gobbing off would have been better

Preview Rd 10 Geelong v Gold Coast Thu May16 730pm at TIO

Would have liked to have seen a young bloke in for Cam Guthrie for this one I get they are trying to get klm in to him but Darwin is not the ideal venue for that IMO, and I expect him to be off the pace by half time.
  • It's not rocket science poor selection by the club.

Toby Conway.
25 hitouts.
21 disposals.
18 contested.
10 clearances.
Never stopped giving 100%.

He's gunna be a star ruck if we can keep his body right.
If we can get a gun bull clearance mid or two next year thatā€™ll be handy for the next 10 years as Conway is going to be a absolute gun

He was great, the absolute highlight for us. Really gave his all for the entire match.

Conway was really promising. His second efforts were great and heā€™s only going to get better. Leading clearances for us with 10.
Oisin has to play every week from here on in. Has loads of speed, looks like he could be a possible tagger, and his kicking has improved immensely.
Thereā€™s lots to work on with Neale. Couldā€™ve easily had 5/6 shots on goal but couldnā€™t hold the pill. Still kicked 2 anyway.
Really troubling signs from 2E, Cuthrie, and blitz.

Holmes has been our best player all year and received coaches' votes effectively every week off half-back but I think he's got to be a permanent midfielder from now on. The rebound plan was working a treat early days with him as the main weapon but the last few games whenever the ball goes in our D50 they're scoring with little/no chance to rebound. He's got pace and he can find the footy - with no Dangerfield it's exactly what we need in the middle.

Guthrie needs to be dropped to the VFL, get some fitness and form because he is a liability right now.

Been worried about the midfield for the past 3 games, without Danger and an in-form Cam Guthrie we are a fair way off good teams.

I donā€™t take too much out of tonight - the apparent temperature in Darwin is still 30Ā°.

Dempseyā€™s first half and Conwayā€™s first quarter were great, very exciting players. Holmes and Miers were good, Clark OK, a bit quieter than Iā€™d hoped coming on fresh. Neale and co werenā€™t helped much by delivery.

9 days till the Giants at home. Two wins from the next 3 would be good - lost over 10% tonight.

Time for the MC to dispense with the pecking order. All of the midfield is on notice, bar Holmes (who went in there in the second half).

Parfitt should stay in on effort if not polish, but he's never had that.

Mullin has to stay in the team too, not matter where he plays.

Reward good VFL form, penalise poor AFL form. Simple. Surely it's worth a try.

It's a sad sad world when you're yelling at Atkins in your lounge room to kick the 100th point.
15.10 would get us a few wins up until now this year, CBF looking it up.

Suns too good, congratulations to the players, Hardwick sucking lemons looking old fartish.
We were 3 changes too many, played shite bar a few, simple as that.
Thrashing never happened when we played old though, get back to the pensioners pls.

I have no issues playing a game in Darwin. Same with Hobart or Launceston etc.
Everyone should be able to play everywhere.

Wasn't just the leading clearance player for us - was the leading clearance player on the ground.
