Is Oleg the luckiest man on the planet?

He was an inch away from football suicide joining Carlton but was scooped up by a professional outfit and now struts around as a premiership player.
It’s actually quite odd when you think about it how he was passed on by every club in the competition.

His energy, run, speed and ball use is great and is the exact type of HBFer every club needs. He isn’t necessarily best 22, but would be invaluable depth for any club in the competition.

Just surreal that he didn’t make it at Richmond and GCS, then overlooked again by everyone.

When you stop and think, he has kept a regular out of a premiership side and become quite important to Collingwood’s back half rebound/game plan.

Im curious - why would it be football suicide to join Carlton ? West Coast and North yeah perhaps but why would you put Carlton in that category ?
