😂

We honestly don’t need that with social media around. Andrew McKay said a bit about every player and then the standard 6-8 weeks, 4-5 weeks etc. Like we already get every single week.

The injury update gets posted every Tuesday or Wednesday.

What else should the club be doing to deliver injury updates?

I'd like live footage of every medical appt attended by our injured players thanks.

And if they have surgery, I'd like live footage of that too, plus an interactive microphone, so I can offer helpful suggestions to the specialists, surgeons and players.

A personal phone call from Crippa to all 100k members at the very least.

First off, they come out like clock work on Tuesday. That wasn’t always happening when we had McKay give us his 1 to 2 week videos.

Second off, the injury report doesn’t need to count down the weeks for Saad and Motlop. We’re smart, we can do it ourselves. Motlop is likely to be a test next week, Saad the week after (subject to how they’ve been tracking).

Third off, reassess means reassess. They said they would reassess Marchbank in Round 9. They did. He’s a test. Given Fog didn’t have surgery there’s a good chance that come Round 11 we will get a similar report or, like in the case of Walsh, a clearer timeline.

Fourth off, In previous years they wouldn’t provide the number of weeks or a reassessment and we would all be asking why the club has mentioned Cunners or Marchy in months. That’s not the case now.

They come out like clockwork because it's been mandated by the AFL. The AFL has made it clear that injury updates are right, not a privilege. Every club now releases their updates by Tuesday evening.

Not a massive deal and I half suspect the club under Cook see it as a leg up to the opposition. A cursory glance at every other team's injury reports will show that we've got the tersest updates in the competition.

No need for a weekly countdown, but an update as players transition through their recovery would be nice. Was anyone expecting Marchbank back this week? Most were probably expecting Martin to be another week away given the lack of regents updates. The old "Martin has returned to full training with an expected return date of round 10" would suffice.

Right now, we rely on updates from joggers around Princes Park who spot Martin in clandestine weekend training sessions with Russell.

Not to mention the lack of update on why certain players missed in the VFL. Cincotta a couple weeks back, Hollands on the weekend. Sure, easy enough to infer but is a one line update in the injury report really asking that much of the club?

We got a hurry up from the AFL earlier this year. Think the basic report is a small way of saying FU to them, not to fans.

Surely one of our illustrious Blue Baggers has a back door into my health record.

It would be better than watching AFL 360!

Injury updates getting lazier by the week.
Geelong’s injury updates used to be the worst - they simply grade an injured player as either short, medium or long term - thankfully the AFL put their foot down due to the risks with betting…not to mention absolutely infuriating for super coaches!!!

Why no Blake acres on the injury report.

Martin was 1-2 weeks away last week, so him being a test this week tracks. In regards to Hollands in the VFL, it was stated when the VFL team was out that he was a late out (managed). It seems pretty straight forward to me

I think they've been better this year than last couple - at least more consistent.
What about for round 1. The injury news for 4/5 players came very late prior to round 1. We thought we had a near full strength side for round one 3 weeks out (aside from Weitering/JSoS). Then all of a sudden we were missing 6-9.

They prioritised memberships i guess but it is hardly great for us supporters.

What I am happy with is the improved injury mgmt, less playing injured players like with Teague, and bringing back players ready. That is the good piece. The rest is pretty average - from our point of view. From the club's point, good to great information dispersal.

Looking at latest report, I just want to let you know I've locked up the black cat, put every ladder away, and checked how all mirrors are afixed in my abode.... (I am not superstitious... I am not superstitious... I am not superstitious...)
Can you also pre-emptively thread ban anyone who has the audacity to come in here and mock, and tempt, the injury gods, by declaring how healthy the injury list is looking, once we start getting a few back?
