Specifically: reference to TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) and its counterpart 'Trumpanzee' or anything similar will no longer be allowed.

Personal attacks are also to be kept to a minimum.

Just a reminder, even if it hasn't come up for a few pages and y'all should know this stuff by now:

This thread is not about Covid, lockdowns, or vaccines. It is about Donald Trump. While Trump was in office during the pandemic and his response to Covid is relevant, there are pertinent threads for you to post your opinions on those things in.

It might also do with reminding a few that when you post on the SRP, you are responsible for backing up/verifying your claims to fact. What this means is that you will be asked time to time to support your claims with evidence, to ensure that this forum is as free of misinfomation as we can make it.

Do not post conspiracy theories on this forum. We have an entire other forum for that.

Thanks all.

Congrats Royces Hart on the new thread title!

At the end of the day, you guys have your opinion and in light of not being able to refute mine, you call me a "bot" which is the new form of abusing someone on the internet. Nothing changes, nothing ever will.

Trump won and he has a four-year plan which he is implementing.

Good luck with your families and projects and things that should be really important.
Good luck with your botting.

You need to actually have some points to debate that aren't just vacuous rwnj maga talking points. You also have no interest in engaging in nuanced discussion or open debate as you keep ignoring people making points you either don't understand or have no answer for and keep reverting to regurgitating said rwnj maga talking points.
sacred cows are sacred cows.

This thread is just a left wing echo chamber and bubble. It's not a place where people come to have open debate on issues or have nuanced discussion.
Why do we have so many moron Trump fans that are Crows supporters

or is this an alias of the other cowards?

I had to replay that three times... I'm don't understand what she's talking about.
She likely doesn’t either.

Strange for a state that for the most part has been staunchly what passes for progressive in modern Australia.

Biden had cognitive disorder and was not aware of what he was doing.

His government were totally corrupt anyway.

Trump is helping create a private sector boom in jobs.

The things Trump and Elon are getting rid of are woke ideological things not the benefits to poor people.

But live in your own left-wing bubble and echo chamber.

Gee our Education system has a lot to answer for.
Most of this is empty rhetoric, but if Trump and Musk aren't cutting things that help ordinary people in order to save money to balance out the big tax cuts for rich people and corporations... how do the following fit?

  • dismantling the CFPB, an agency that has returned billions to Americans wrongly taken by financial institutions and scammers, with a much smaller budget than the returns
  • USAid cuts have screwed over farmers who were the suppliers, without notice or a transition plan
  • massive budget cuts forced on committees overseeing Medicaid, Food Stamps etc so they will absolutely have to cut in these areas to make their budget balance, but technically not a direct cut to these things so Republicans get their way without having to own up to it
  • rolling back NLRB rulings that favour workers e.g. resinstating non competes, and paralysing the board from doing its job
  • environmental and chemical regulatory rollbacks which will hurt people who live in the environment
  • placing a senior official into the EPA, overseeing chemical regulation/use, who had fought against regulation of formaldehyde (linked to cancer, respiratory issues)
  • executive orders rescinded which were trying to lower prescription drug costs
  • cuts to support/research funding for illnesses of firefighters who responded to 9/11
  • VA cuts thousands of workers, in an already pressured program delivering benefits and support to veterans, who aren't rich elites
  • cuts at the food division of the FDA in direct contradiction to statements about improving food safety and health
  • cuts to personnel investigating and responding to bird flu, which is a pressure on egg and poultry prices that Trump said were going to come down
  • FEMA cuts while people in West Virginia have been abandoned by federal (lack of) response to flooding
  • cuts to FAA, OHSA and nuclear energy/weapon personnel which increases safety risks of air travel, workplaces and nuclear facilities

These are just some examples.

Remind me how much the US stock market has crashed under diaper donny?

Trump ain’t abandoning him. They’re going to go down together like Thelma and Louise.

There’s going be many more corrupt grifting Tesla infomercials to come.
In that Tesla ad photo op, it looks like Musk is reaching over to give Trump a handie. :eekv1::sickv1:

good luck with your left wing Democrat policies which have led to massive inflation, a cost-of-living crisis, a housing crisis, an energy crisis, a homeless crisis and massive problems for the poor and then blaming Trump when he gets in.
If Trump cares about the poor. Then why are taxes going up for the lower and middle classes, yet the upper class bracket are set to see tax cuts, at the next change?

If Trump cares about the working class. Why does he and Elon want to gut Medicare, and Social Security? Thus making those struggling, even more worse off?

If Trump cares about the working class, why are people see a loss in their 401s? Including from those who voted for Trump?

If Trump cares about the poor. Why did he sign policies that remove caps on prescription costs, allowing Big Pharma to do whatever they want price wise. Which will inevitably lead to people dying, unable to afford essential meds?

If Trump cares about the working class. Why have they fired tens of thousands of people, from essential jobs, despite many of them being employed in said role for decades, and having recently received high performance ratings for their role? And in some cases, replaced them with unqualified "mates".

In Trumps first term, despite making the same promises, he still saw the loss of many manufacturing jobs overseas.

During his first term in office, Trump took many actions that were anti-worker—including pursing proposals to allow employers to steal tips, undermining registered apprenticeships, and exempting certain workers from the minimum wage.

In 2017 President Trump and congressional Republicans have blocked regulations that protect workers’ pay and safety. Two of the blocked regulations are the Workplace Injury and Illness recordkeeping rule, and the Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces rule. By blocking these rules, the president and Congress are raising the risks for workers while rewarding companies that put their employees at risk.

In 2017 the Trump administration hurt workers’ pay in many ways, including acts to dismantle two key regulations that protect the pay of low- to middle-income workers: it failed to defend a 2016 rule strengthening overtime protections for these workers, and it took steps to gut regulations that protect servers from having their tips taken by their employers. These failures to protect workers’ pay could cost workers an estimated $7 billion per year.

Trump has appointed—or tried to appoint—individuals with records of exploiting workers to key posts in the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). DOL is supposed to promote the welfare of job seekers, wage earners, and retirees by, among other things, protecting them from hazards on the job and ensuring they are paid for their work. The NLRB is charged with protecting the rights of most private-sector employees to join together, with or without a union, to improve their wages and working conditions. Nominees to critical roles at DOL and the NLRB have—in word and deed—expressed hostility to the worker rights laws they are in charge of upholding.

Many leading economists agree that Tariffs will not lead to a creation of "heaps of jobs". Trump’s first-term tariffs reduced total manufacturing employment by a net 2.7%, Aaron Flaaen and Justin Pierce, economists at the Federal Reserve Board, wrote in 2024. That’s after accounting for a 0.4% boost to employment in manufacturing jobs protected by tariffs, they found. Basically meaning, you gain some jobs directly, but lose more overall.

I've already touched on this numerous times in this forum.

I personally don’t disagree with your principle and hitting the hip pocket always hurts them. But America's shadow is baked into our economy far deeper than just Netflix and Amazon. The supermarket scanner? US tech. Your phone apps? US infrastructure. Most logistics, payment processors, data servers, digital identity layers... all hooked to the US digital nervous system.

Boycotting American consumerism alone is symbolic (useful), but not strategic. If we’re serious, we need to build leverage, not just withdraw. That means developing Australian-owned alternatives in digital services, manufacturing, media, infrastructure, cloud platforms, renewable tech, even fintech layers. Otherwise we’re just declining American while still leaning on them for the basics.

A real economic firewall isn’t built at checkout, it’s built in code, in industry, in policy, in narrative ownership. If all we do is cancel Netflix while our banks run on Oracle and our media servers ping AWS, we’re still caught in the trap.

You want to decline America? Then replace them. Out create them.
Australians would rather buy another house

Trump is unbelievable, "They have to do that for the free world. We need that to protect the free world".

He seriously said that at the same time he is cosying up to Russia, wants to build Trump Gaza and is backing out of NATO.

I know he is a showman - but everything he says is outright crazy.

Over/under? Generous of you to assume there’s a second gear beyond CTRL+C, CTRL+V.

We’re already deep into the loop:

Tariffs = good

Private enterprise = holy

Government = money laundering

Energy prices = global conspiracy

Response to any economic question = “But Biden!”

At this point, I half expect the next reply to be “You just don’t understand real capitalism,” followed by a YouTube link to someone yelling in a pickup truck.

Genuinely cracked up at this.
It’s what the internet has devolved to.
Armies of stupid people who copy & paste nonsense with no real understanding of the subject at hand thinking they’re owning the libs with no clue they’re regurgitating propaganda for Putin.

It used to be vaguely amusing, now it’s just sad.

You can hate Trump, or you can love Trump.

But Trump is doing exactly what he said he would do before he was elected.

And a majority of Americans voted for him and wanted these policies.

To get American industry back on its feet and to stop the Ukraine/Russia war.
He said he was going to stop it day 1. Loser

You can replace his nonsense with quotes from The Godfather and they amount to the same thing with Brando’s voice.
