2010 Season Begins

Im with Robbie on this one. The fact that Lillis chose to play at another club is understandable, however the fact he verbalised and committed to everyone within the yac football club that he would finish his career at yac is not. He made a point and committed to every individual in the playing group, committee and supporters and again at presentation that he would stay at yac for the remainder of his career. He made a huge song and dance about this and continually, repeatedly and recently pledged his loyalty to all who would listen. This was a spineless act that has upset many people within the yac football club. Now it has come to light that he had agreed to terms with Narra at Mitta, well and truly before the season had ended and has now poached at least three other additional yac senior players. His true colors have shown through this event, and his distinct lack of morals and ethics have been highlighted. The yac football club went above and beyond looking after Lillis and his family, particularly financially and even stuck by him when he continued to pick guys only on friendship basis. As for Stats Quo defending his actions, im not sure i understand. Lillis is now trying to justify his move by saying the club back stabbed him, but in reality the club said they could not stand for his on going and continued corruption ( refusal to drop his best mate Harris despite the loss of games and detrimental effect it had on the club). Anyone who knows anything about the yac football club will tell you this. He lost yac multiple games and a grand final because of it. Lillis and Harris can now happily go hand in hand to mitta, but be warned Narra about this snake in the grass!...... Yac have lost half of their grand final team and now a rebuilding phase has to occur, but the club with Liam Clayton at the helm will be much much better off.

Fair Point Max, but really if it were you would you be telling everyone especially the playing group you had thoughts of leaving. No you would not, and it would not make sense even if you did. As an outgoing coach which im sure Gecko new was going to be before anyone else did, did not want the playing group to be at wits end because he said he was leaving. He would want the best for the club going forward im sure of that.
You have been critical of him & Yack for some time now, perhaps the club would better off with out u...

Interesting that Lillis had apparently committed to Mitta before seasons end, my sources say that he had also spoken and more or less committed to at least one othe TDFL club. Sounds like his ethics/morals are questionable. Other teams can take solice in the fact that if Lillis and Harris are playing in Mitta seniors then they can not be that good. Harris is finished and should just go fishing and Lillis at best is resting forward pocket material.

In regard to not disclosing to Yack that he was leaving I agree that he probably needed to wait until the grandfinal was over. However he did not need to go overboard and commit so openly to Yack also. There are strategic ways to go about things he could have spoken to the committee. I also believe that he should have gone to another league after coaching a team to a grandfinal rather than playing against them.

Steve Pulla aka Max Walker, I know your upset that Lillis didn't try and recruit you back to the club when he took over but he didn't need a reserves back pocket who never hits a target. There is no need to make up lies and post them on here gutlessly hiding behind a username. Just re reading through your posts and was wondering why you have such an infatuation with Shrek, do you secretly love him?

Rumours are rife towards Wahgunyah way... Jordan Bradley has been laying the foundations in the gym for a big season. When asked of his intentions for 2010 he replied "To be the buffest midfielder in the comp". Could this be the year of the Merkat????
