Conspiracy theorists could have a party with this. (I think I could be one of those)

I have always had a notion that there have never been any favours handed to the crows when it comes to the draw, particularly early in the piece when it's good for teams to get off to a flyer.

Well, here's my prediction of a likely draw over the first 4 rounds.

1) Hawks (AAMI)
2) West Coast (SUBI)
3) Bulldogs (AAMI)
4) Geelong (Kardinia Park...or whatever they call it now)

What say you?

Considering we have played interstate two first rounds in a row (which has to have been a mistake made by the AFL) you could safely predict that round one will be at AAMI.

We wont play the Saints, the Saints will play the Cats in the opening match of the season.

Bulldogs (AAMI)
West Coast (Subi)
Carlton (TD)
Port (AAMI)

R1: vs North Melbourne at AAMI (Sunday arvo)
R2: vs Geelong at Skilled (Saturday arvo)
R3: vs Port at AAMI (our home game, Saturday night)
R4: vs Hawthorn at Launceston (Sunday arvo)

And then a swag of easy games after that.

This is my guess of how Round 1 will look

Thursday Night: Richmond V Carlton - MCG
Friday Night: St Kilda v Geelong- Eithed
Saturday Day: Essendon v Hawthorn - MCG
Saturday Night: Brisbane v Melbourne - Gabba
Saturday Night: Western Bulldogs v Sydney - Eithed
Sunday Early: Port Adelaide v Adelaide - AAMI
Sunday Day: North Melbourne v Collingwood - MCG
Sunday Twilight: Fremantle v West Coast - Subiaco

My Guess for the first 4 rounds
Round 1 - Port (Away)
Round 2 - Western Bulldogs (Away)
Round 3 - Hawthorn (Home)
Round 4 - West Coast/Fremantle (Away)

I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist but I'll throw myself at this anyway :p I think we'll get hard games kind of spread out next year, as the AFL will be looking for us to have a good season with blockbuster matches every month or so to draw in the crowds without knocking us down a rung too much too early.

Round 1 - Adelaide vs Carlton (AAMI)
Round 2 - St. Kilda vs Adelaide (Etihad)
Round 3 - Adelaide vs Sydney (AAMI)
Round 4 - Richmond vs Adelaide (Etihad)

Rd 1 will be easy to predict,
games in bold are almost certain matchups IMO

Thursday
Richmond vs Carlton (MCG) (N) ten

Friday
St Kilda vs Geelong (MCG) (N) seven

Saturday
Western Bulldogs vs Sydney (ES) foxtel
West Coast vs Collingwood (S) (N) ten
Brisbane vs Port Adelaide (G) (N) foxtel

Sunday
North Melbourne vs Fremantle (ES) (E) foxtel
Essendon vs Hawthorn (MCG) seven
Adelaide vs Melbourne (AS) (N) foxtel

now how I got the other 4 games
last year rd Adel + WC travelled
this year they're at home
can really only fit 1 more Melbourne game in, so there will be one somewhere else, Brisbane left over
game in Melbourne at Etihad, (Melbourne and Colliingwood wouldnt play at HOME there against remaining teams, therefore North gets home game by default as only remaining Victorian team)

so so far I have as the 8 games
Richmond vs Carlton
St Kilda vs Geelong
Western Bulldogs vs Sydney
Essendon vs Hawthorn
Adelaide vs ????????
Brisbane vs ????????
North Melbourne vs ?????????
West Coast vs ????????

with Melbourne, Collingwood, Fremantle, Port Adelaide remaining

wouldnt be a showdown/derby so early

but beyond Rd 1 becomes very very hard to predict

ill say we travel in rd 2 home in rd 3 and travel in rd 4

Rd 2 - either a game in Victoria or Sydney, ill say Essendon (ES)
Rd 3 - night game against either Geelong or St Kilda, ill say St Kilda
Rd 4 - away showdown

Rnd 1 - v Kanga's at AAMI
Rnd 2 - v Carlton at Docklands
Rnd 3 - v Power at AAMI
Rnd 4 - v Sydney at SCG

Round 4 - West Coast/Fremantle (Away)

I believe it may have been reported that Brisbane will play WC at Subi in round 1

Fixture is out on Wednesday by all counts.

I reckon Crows will play in Melbourne over Easter, Anzac and Queens Birthday long weekends. We tend to draw bigger crowds when we play away and having them over these weekends will ensure even bigger crowds. Any rate I hope so.

Hopefully we may finally play our bunnies for two games next year - Swans that is.

We due for a game in Sydney and Launceston, maybe two games in Perth and may possibly miss Brisbane next year as we've played there the past two years in a row.

I believe it may have been reported that Brisbane will play WC at Subi in round 1

I'm not too sure, you could well be right.

I heard that the AFL were trying to keep the big Melbourne teams in Victoria round 1 and similar to last year have a game in every time slot in Melbourne.

Also heard that the AFL wanted the WA and SA derbies in Round 1 which both SA and WA clubs were apparently not happy about. Not sure if this will happen.

I have no inside knowledge am solely guessing on the fixture, with rumours i have heard over the last couple of weeks.

...Speculation has begun of the AFL having both the Crows and Power playing at AAMI Stadium in the season-opener with a Showdown clash.

Some truth to the rumour maybe?
