He would walk in to at minimum Melbourne, Suns, Dogs, Giants (Green is their only inside bull) even if they had to do some rearranging and the Swans wouldn’t have gone after Adams if they had him. He isn’t a multiple AA by accident. Either way though your job as the coach is to get the best out...
Great way to get the players on your side. It’s no wonder they don’t believe in themselves.
Our problems are 100% gameplan related. Almost double the marks then points scored, we might as well have just kept Ratten.
Midfield needed a complete revamp so hopefully that’s what we get. Forward line is still too tall and slow, can’t understand what the thinking is there. Hopefully we’re giving Phillipou another run in the middle otherwise we’ll be witches hats when the ball hits the deck up forward.
Stoked to...
Wasn’t really a criticism he just said he’s concerned about Max’s lack of forward craft and that he doesn’t really have much if his run and jump is taken away.
Don’t fall for what he says in press conferences, you don’t build a gameplan that involves kicking the ball backwards and sideways if you want to take the game on. He needs to evolve.
One thing I hope we do going forward is stop with the delisted FA’s. There’s only so far they can take you.
Good to see Paton in, still think we’re going to need him for the next few years because Webster isn’t exactly young. No doubt he’s in as insurance in case Bruest is giving Jimmy another bath. Stocker has been ok and while I can live with him in the backline I’ll spew up if I see him in the...
This is the first year he’s averaged over 20 possessions. Not sure if it’s something you can bank on going forward and even if it is, that’s very low for a midfielder.
If there’s one thing we’ve learnt over the past few years it’s that we shouldn’t be making significant offers for B graders...
McCluggage averages more contested possessions than Berry. He’s quick and uses the ball well which makes people think he’s outside but he still wins a decent amount of ball. Berry spends most of his time not getting it.
If we had JDG the flow on effect would be huge. Maybe we finish a bit higher on the ladder and avoid GWS, Collingwood probably don’t play as well or even make the grand final which changes the whole finals series, not sure it’s as simple as just add him to our last game of the year.
Someone...
He’s gone from averaging over 28 touches a game to 19 the last two weeks with strapping all over his knee. Don’t need to be a rocket surgeon to work that one out.
I try not to read too much into what worked against one of the worst teams in recent times but at least it was a convincing win and not the slog fest/scrape over the line job last years win against them was.
Some other positives:
- I like that Wilson’s contested numbers are trending up...
I can’t see any players basically in the prime of their career going to an expansion team that will take years to become competitive. Imagine going through a 10 year rebuild at north only to leave to do the same thing in Tassie, surely you couldn’t hate yourself that much.
Windhager has locked himself into a midfield spot, when Crouch comes back Ross will probably move into a more outside role or Sinclair will go back to HB.
I know everyone loves the father son rule but I just can’t understand how anyone could be in favour of a compromise like that that literally decides flags. It’s not just Collingwood either, Geelong got flags from it and the Dogs benefited in theirs. I know it’s never going to change but that...
I think you only need two TBH but either way I’ve always believed it’s more important how it gets down there than who’s there when it is. I think they’d all look better if we stopped playing so super defensive but that’s a conversation for another day.
