Back to the op shops to see if they can find some more missing pieces.

David King pointed out they havent't really recruited quality from other teams - hard to argue with that. Our incoming trades have been much higher calibre. Take a Keane vs Asava for instance, no comparison.

This is half true. He was kept out by Doedee.

But he shouldn’t have been. Worrell looked really good in 2022 and should have been playing early in 2023.

I mean, it's not half true - it's the complete and utter truth in this case. There was no 'Nicks didn't trust Worrell', no 'needs to work on his game', none of that nonsense. Just a case of a lad who found himself in a bad list situation, which is always a risk with drafting a kid. As much as you can say 'he shouldn't have been', there aren't infinite spots on the football field and right now, sticking to a third tall seems to have been the right call.

Worrell deserves a lot of credit. The wheel turned, he got his lucky break and ended Doedee career here. Exactly what you want from a prospect stuck in that situation.

Most of the team was good, even our weaker players had some good moments.

Defence was terrific, Worrell keeps building and is having an elite season, one of Soligo's best games, Fogarty and Walker were good.

On the downside, thought we really lacked fluency in the second half. But we still took our chances and overall dominated most of the game outside of late in the first term and early in the last.

Also... two tricky games coming up, but if we can split those and get to round 10 at 4-6, season is not quite done.

We have then West Coast (H), Hawks (A), Richmond (H) and Sydney (H) - need to win one of Brisbane and Collingwood.

One week at a time as the saying goes but the season ain’t dead.
