He's pretty bloody ordinary.

Just above ordinary in fact.

He's not even good ordinary, just plain ordinary.

He's half complete spud and half ordinary.

150 something games of blandness and spuddish moments.

You've gone back to 2011?

Gives merit to my point, I'm pretty sure Mitch Morton had a fairly large impact for the Swans in the GF when they beat the Hawks circa 2012.

But of course, how short is my memory.....

Brad Sewell was close to BOG in that GF. Wouldn't even be in our best 42 players now.

Dropped a simple chest mark just behind his attacking 50m line when 11 points down a few minutes to play and Freo with momentum, picked up the loose ball, got caught with it and the game was over.

He's a good stopper but I'm not sure I've seen another 150 game player so likely to stuff up a simple skill at a bad moment.

An awful lot. He has the moments where I can't see why he is an AFL player, but defensively, he's fine. Anything else, not so much.

so so true...he's good at jumping and getting a fist or 2 to the ball if it's kicked nice and high but that's where it ends. Awareness is awful, disposal average and runs like a camel with a bung hip. Was never going to be a premiership player...never.

I understand parts of the ridicule but it's not all warranted. His attack on the footy is pretty good and defensively he seems to know what he's doing. It's decision making and skill that make him look so awful. Sometimes he'll run around like a headless chook and look hopeless, and as soon as he gets the ball he's a massive liability. Not great awareness.

Sometimes the picture is bigger.

If you watch the action and follow the flight of the ball, you'll miss the additional efforts. Blocking, knowing when to leave his man (precarious when your on a full forward, do it wrong ten meters out and it's a guaranteed goal). Zac has been a king of the 1% in his time at Freo and I presume it predates us back to The Saints and beyond.

While you cant afford another defender to lack in disposal skills, as long as he's protecting the goals and the obvious in playing on the FF, he's done his job. There is a role for one golden fist in a team. Obviously, if you had someone with the same AND accumulation/disposal skills, they'd get the gig.

Not as pretty to watch as McPharlin was, but Luke defending against a chf could afford to risk outmarking, stuffing up 50 meters out is different to stuffing up around the goal square.

Zac brings a bit of protective mother duck as well. Get a bit too physical with his backline brood and you'll be subjected to "clumsy" tackles and whatnot and feel the worse for wear. Teams need enforcers.

Good defender, not even that bad disposal wise as long as he's keeping within his limits.

That being said, should be behind Alex Pearce and Sam Collins in the Fremantle lineup next year.
