Could be gout….had it in my toe last week, couldn’t walk, but I’ve had it in my elbow before….worst pain ever
Sounds like my Ex Wife

Get OUT

Saw Doc today

"Tennis Elbow"

****ing killing me

Anti inflam drugs now - taking double dose to get to Friday

Ultrasound booked in
Cortisone injection possibly coming

Cannot wait for Friday
I've had that exact thing before from golf! It took like 6 months to get over, apparantly it's the tendon unable to cope with the load and the long term resolution so it doesn't come back is exercise to strengthen it, things like wrist flexion raises, forearm rotations with light weights, etc.

It's a pain in the ass though to golf through

Was +4 in the par comp with a putt to go +5. Three putted from with half a metre (yes 50cm) and instead of a par on the 16th got me a 7 and fell apart for a +2 in the end and a 10 on the 18th.

Most would say 'but +2 is a good score' but I turned my first chance of getting close to cracking 90 into a 98 for no good reason other than I must secretly loath myself and hate nice things.

A round at Peninsula Kingswood. Played to handicap. Lost two balls.

Light breeze and sunshine made for very enjoyable conditions. Greens exceptional as usual. Rough was in parts so deep and not worth looking for balls in.

According to the stats, hit 12/14 fairways which I feel is a record.

On average, 8.7m 1st putt. 39 putts.

You'll know it's time to quit when you line up putts thinking you don't deserve to hole it.

If you want to make yourself feel better, Justin Thomas had a round this year where he only made 21.5 feet of putts for the whole day, with the longest being 2'9".

Or maybe, since Par is really match play against the course, you can say you won 4 and 3?

Started yesterday with a 280m drive on #1. Square on handicap first 8 holes. Par 5,(#7) smashed drive, then, like the dh I am, took 3wood to have a crack at green. Lost. Wipe. Next 4 holes 8 down on handicap with 2 more wipes.
Could’ve hit 7 iron and wedge and be putting for birdie. Never again will I try that when I’m going well.

Stuff that, have to test yourself. If it comes off you cooking even further.

Traf used to be an absolute hidden gem - like 15- 20 years ago.

How is the course now?
Very well maintained and has some really nice views.

Course management 101(the adult version) dictates hitting 3w into greens is for dreamers. The only way it is staying on the green is if it rolls on. That takes a career shot to land it in the right place. And most players would have a 3w dispersion way bigger than the size of the average green.

In fact, there is a pretty decent argument with today's equipment that the 3 wood should be ditched. For nearly all golfing levels, shot data has 3w about 1% more accurate off the tee than driver - with a massive distance sacrifice.

Off the fairway, it's rarely the best option.

Do I use it for both of these shots? Of course! I'm a dickhead like everyone else.

Considering I hit my 3w way better than my driver I'm doing it. I'm also liking the challenge. Stuff course management, eagle hunting 101

If you know #7 at KH it is a shortish par 5. It was hole #1 for the Open.
I had about 215m to the front and the plan is to run it thru the dip at the front of the green. But, as often happens with 3w off the deck, I cut it...badly.
I hit a provisional which ran up the dip but didn't make it and rolled back.
Look, it's not completely stupid and golfers like me rarely get the chance to putt for eagle...so why not?
Smart thing would've been to play safe and almost guarantee a putt for birdie. As I mentioned, I had a good round going and cocked it up from that point...

For most of my life i would have done exactly the same thing. And as a bonus would have swung extra hard just to get it there.

But many hours on my launch monitor has delivered some hard truths. Not the least of which is that swinging hard does not equal increased club speed.

As you know I am familiar with the hole. So much danger around the green. The dip is also a sucker.

At days end it’s up to the player to determine what they feel is the best course of action. And %s. You made the best choice

2 man Ambrose yesterday at The Dunes
Started on par5 12th
Driver - nice
made birdie
Here we go (or not)

Some really ordinary 2nd shots cost us all day
Had 89m to the flag on the 8th - neither of us on the green ffs
Had 95m to the flag on 15 - neither of us on the green ffs
3 putt double bogey on the 1st hole ffs
Nett 66 odd
Tennis Elbow is painful
Course in great condition
That is all

Peninsula kwood. Started like a house not on fire duffing my approach practically into the creek. Managed to get it up but sadly not down. Scrambled for a three putt point.

From there on went on a tear. Two birds on the front 9. Then fell into a hole with half of what I scored on the front only.

Lost two balls

Enjoyable day though.
Tomorrow the National GC
