WRFL Div 3 discussion 2022

Braybrook has made the call to forfeit the reserves game today against North Sunshine’s reserves due to fears of being beat up. Scared of North’s thuggery.

Very unBraybrook like.
Is this for real? I even seen that Braybrook and Nth Sunny seniors scores not up online. Anyone comment on what happened?

Hi folks. I attended the North Sunshine v Braybrook game last Saturday (Round 14-16th July 2022) and took my camcorder with me to capture some vision. Good game but Braybrook were too good and too polished in the end. North Sunshine showed lots of endeavour and passion but in the end their disposal let them down. Thankyou to both teams for their efforts. It doesn't get more grassroots than North Sunshine v Braybrook at Dempster Park on a bitterly cold and windy day. I braved the cold weather, wind and mud to capture some great game day scenes from both teams. Thankyou to the canteen for their delicious and heart-warming hotdog and potato cakes. If you have time (and the bandwidth) please click the link below and share if you like it. Keep an eye out for the trees blowing in the wind which gives an indication of the conditions the game was played in. Gotta luv suburban footy. Go roadrunners.

Would be interesting if the finals series was played at Heights, completely different team when you play them at home. Still Suns/Cobras but would at least make for an interesting Elimination and Prelim

The word LEGEND gets thrown around a fair bit too much these days but this bloke surely fits the word perfectly. On ya Robbie, great player, bloke and so loyal to the SHFC. No doubt he could’ve got some serious $$$ back in the day from some Div 1 clubs.

Don’t think the results would be different but 100% they would be much closer. Ainsworth is a bull pen, not many grounds like it these days. Heights have a massive home ground advantage there.

Bring on this week. Can The Brookers upset The Cobras???? Don't think so, Brookers quicker but Cobras tougher. Cobras by 41.

Just bulldoze Nth Sunshine an absolute disgrace of a club filled with s**t people. Once again causing an all in brawl and hitting blokes not even on the field.

Let's see if the WRFL actually has the balls to pull the pin on that absolute joke of a club.
To think some of them throw shade at other clubs, shut the door, but WRFL have no balls.

Will Cachia or Buttigieg-Clarke kick 100?

Butters has at least 2 games to go and needs 9 (Suns & Heights + potentially another 2 finals)

Cachia has at least 4 games to go and needs 19 (Tarneit + Braybrook + Cobras + potential another final + grand final (if they lose week 1 of finals))

Neither player will play against a Lavo or North Sunhsine from here on in.

A local footy game in Melbourne has been abandoned and police called after a brawl broke out between sets of players with the chaos extending into the crowd.
The Western Region Football League Division 3 match between North Sunshine and Tarneit was abandoned by umpires with several minutes remaining in the last quarter on Saturday.

Footage uploaded online and seen by Leader shows a wrestle between players break out after a free kick was awarded to Tarneit for a dangerous tackle.

Players from both sides can be seen pushing and shoving before the pack grows larger as players hit the ground still wrestling.

The footage shows players continuing to push and shove even once the umpires have left the field while a spectator, believed to be from North Sunshine, can be seen arguing with Tarneit players having entered the field of play.

North Sunshine's clash with Tarneit was called off.

Once the players appear to have been separated, the camera quickly pans to the front of the changerooms where North Sunshine and Tarneit players can be seen.

More verbals were exchanged before the two teams were separated.

It’s understood tensions were high throughout the game with one player struck with an elbow in the second quarter.

Small packs of push and shove also occurred throughout the game.

A Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed police did attend the scene.
“Police were called to an alleged brawl between two opposing football teams in North Sunshine on August 6,” they said.
“Officers were called to a sporting reserve in Phoenix Street just after 4.30pm following reports of people fighting in the change rooms.
“Upon arrival, officers spoke to a number of spectators at the venue.
“There were no reports of injuries or assault.”
It was the second WRFL senior game to be called off this season after Wyndhamvale and Newport’s Division 2 clash was marred by off-field violence.

All leading goal kickers have dined out on the Cellar Dwellers. It will go down to wire but will go with Dean Cachia purely based on the amount of forward opportunities he will get.

Hope they both get there, I have a feeling they may both get agonisingly close and just miss.

Butters really needs about 3 a game, 1st half of the season you’d think no problem. Now it’s going to be tough.

Cachia could kick a bag this weekend and then have another 4-5 games to get the rest.

How could you possibly want to play WRFL Division 3. You're at risk of being assaulted everytime you play against North Sunshine. Laverton are good blokes and great to play against but are hanging on by a thread. Wyndham Suns and Albanvale need to do everything in their powers to get the f* out of this comp. Especially Wyndham if they want to establish themselves.

Much better off going down the road and playing for Keilor Park, Taylors Lakes or Burnside in EDFL Div 3. Or go and play reserves for a Div 1 club.

Fair point 👍

Albanvale and Braybrook may as well move to EDFL

Suns will do well in the next division

Tarneit and heights would struggle but over time can build and become competitive

Laverton unfortunately without a money backed president or big sponsor won’t continue much longer which is a shame

North sunshine - who cares
